We single guys moan of being ignored when mailing people on fab. I would like to say a big thankyou to the lady who so graciously responded to my wink with a nicely worded response, and even continued to mail for a short while. |

It was lovely of her to reply graciously and equally lovely of you to be so publically appreciative. Nice post! |

if i wink at somebody its not always a sign of wanting to get to know them more. I just think its a polite way of letting them know you have read and appreciated their profile. And if they want to contact you then fair enough. If not then c'est la vie!
Manners cost nothing and its always nice to see polite people such as yourself still exist mate. |

A couple of our best meets began with us responding to winks.
We don't send many, but we recieve a few, and we check the sender's profile. If we like, we send a message, if we don't, we delete it - no harm, no trouble.
Each to their own. |

I dont understand what the problem with somebody sending a wink.I think it's an ice breaker. Sometimes you just don't know what to say. When i send a wink it means I like what I see and I'm saying hello.lol |

I just wonder how many people have met their partners with a wink in the street, night club, pub or Sainsburys! so remind me again why are winks are so bad?
just a thought... |

I don't think they're bad, I just think it's impossible to answer them all - one night in chat and you can end up with 200 winks and friends invites and messages, would you seriously sit and reply to every single one of them? I'm in chat a lot so it very quickly becomes a silly amount. I get that people think it's bad manners to not respond to everyone, but realistically it just is not possible. When I first joined, I tried to respond to everyone and it was stressing me out! So now I get slagged off for being "up my own arse" and again, at first I found that quite insulting, now I just figure, oh well, if me not answering a wink is gonna bother them that much, they'd no be for me in real life anyway, my real life friends are used to me be being shite at responding to phone calls/texts, I mean to, but then the kids fight, or someone else phones or the door goes and poof! I forget what I was doing ten mins before as I wander off to put a washing on that I was meant to do 2 hours ago before I came in here to answer people I actually know...
So I'm evil, oh well lol heaven sounds boring anyway |

LOL @ scumqueen...how ya doing? xx
I love a wink,Ive met some great people from winks,I don't feel guilty if I just ignore them and if they have a great profile I may message them or just send a wink back,I see them as a bit of harmless flirting thats all
I think its lovely that the OP had a lovely response from one as I know that on here some people behave as if you had emailed a steaming pile of dog poo to their inbox instead of a wink that no-one even needs to look at if they're not into them |

Wouldn't say your evil - I know I've winked & posted messages to you but to be honest I know that if your hot, you get loads of mail. so if I don't stand out from the crowd, well tbh, I think to myself - I need to make more effort or try a different tactic to stand out.
I never think someone must be up their own arse justfor not reading/replying to a wink or a message.
I get bogged down when I'm chatting to 5 or 5 people at a time god know how you'd choose from 200!!!!! |

We love winks, if someone winks us we take it to mean that they like the look and sound of us.
If we like them, we wink back, it is then up to them to send the first mail.
I we don't fancy them we don't wink back, it is much better than sending mails to people your not interested in saying "thanks but no thanks" and often getting negative or argumentative or even insulting mails back.
The downside of winks is people who are shortsighted and cannot see them.
The other downside is people who don't think - they see a profile they like, perhaps because of the text or photos so they wink the person, on thier own profile is one line, no pictures or pictures of only one of them, do they honestly expect someone to wink them back blind ? if they do surely that reeks of desperation/hardcore ? |

I've thanked winkers. They're not meant as offensive or malicious.....just friendly.
Not sure why some folk get into a furey about them, just delete them if you dont't like them....some folk spend more time analysing the intention of a wink than it would take the 'offender' to hit 'wink'. |

I suppose I have to apologise to those that have taken offenceto the winks that I have sent. I have never winked somebody that I did not find appealing and having read so many posts about the amount of mail some receive on a daily basis. |

why should you apologise? the facility is there for use; unless you've been deliberately hunting down folk that have "DO NOT WINK AT ME" on their profile and winking in a malicious manner.
wonder how a malicious wink would look....would it be more of a squint? do we need a squint option?! |

"we dont reply to winks cos we think its a lazy way to contact people."
Lazy? Only in the same way saying Hi is a lazy type of a formal introduction. Why can't people see them as they are meant to be, as an ice breaker. If you like the person then wink back, nothing ventured nothing gained. We have done and got some really nice responses back, so those people weren't lazy at all.
Now, if someone winks you, you reply and THEN nothing, maybe that's lazy... |

Well, you can wink us anytime, no offence will be taken!
As for those that complain about all the mail they receive, hmm, the braggers that 'complain'. Well, there's a simple solution if you don't want to be contacted on what is essentially a CONTACTS site.. |

I suppose I`m an old fashioned guy. I`ll respond to winks but only with a message. For me, sending a wink just isn`t my style and to me, it could be taken for the wrong thing i.e. wanting a meet when sometimes I just want to congratulate someone on a particular picture that`s taken my imagination or something similar, especially when I`ve read the profile (Yes, I DO read them! ) and the person/people aren`t looking for what I am!
So peeps, if I`ve looked at you more than say two or three times, then I`m probably interested but just taking faaaaar to long in plucking up the courage to message you! |

"I will always try to reply, even if it's a thanks but not interested.
maybe some peole wink because they are too nervous or shy to mail!
"
I always reply too. Unless it's someone im tired of saying no to.
The one thing most likely to put me off saying yes to anyone is if there messages says they are shy. |

You keep winking all you like, i like them, it gives me chance to check out the profile of the sender, if i like i may wink back or message, if i dont i ignore and every now and again, i mass delete. I dont see them as lazy at all as quite frankly, with the number of messages i get (which includes the long boring story some send me) it saves my inbox being full to the brim |
