what was it like and was it similar to what we have in England?
We have been to a few in Germany and noticed that they are all much much cleaner, proper rooms and beds...
what are your experiences?

We have been to two clubs in Texas. One was very similar to the UK i.e. private rooms and group rooms to play but the other was more like a 'dating' place as no sexual contact was allowed on the premises, the car park outside was like a giant dogging site! apparantly there are two different types of license in Texas so if you are going be careful to make the right choice. |

The ones in Holland are far better than the UK. I did go to one in Denmark which wasn't nice but it was more the people than the surroundings. |

I think its difficult with all the licenses you need.
What i liked in Germany that you dont pay a membership fee - prices are reasonable for couples plus food and drink are included in the entry. Staff constantly checked the rooms for cleanliness and so on.
I wish people would improve the clubs here a bit! Too expensive to go abroad all the time haha. |

We went to one when we were in Las Vegas.Took a lttle organising since you are not told where the location actually is.You meet the owners in a bar off the strip and they kind of "vet" you (there was another couple going to the club in the bar as well).Then they drive you to a large house which has been converted into a club.It was much the same as clubs in the UK but alot moe "informal" in that it was like a large comfortable house(two lounges,bar area,dance floor) but with the sauna,private rooms,large play room etc in an extension on the back of the house.It was clean and tidy but a little clique.
At the end of the night,when you are ready,the owner takes you back to the bar where he met you(now closed) but has pre arranged a taxi to meet you there to take you back to your hotel.
All a bit cloak and dagger but it was to protect the location of the club...apparently once you are known you are allowed to go there yourself.
A little more expensive than UK and you had to add on taxi costs to and from the hotel but a little different and great fun! |

Been to clubs in Holland, Switzerland, France and Germany.
The standard abroad is much higher just like it is in European Hotels, in the swingers club scene it is because those attending are willing to pay a lot more to attend and therefore there is extra revenue available for club improvements/facilities.
It is simple economics.
Gay saunas in the UK tend to be a much higher standard than those abroad because in a complete reversal of the swinging scene more gays attend clubs in the UK as a general rule and therefore they do have the higher income. |

Like Jed, we have been to Clubs all over Europe,
Our Club Guide book, which is coming out next years is a culmination of two years work, we list every single one, and which ones we havent reviewed we have classified and summarised...
To give you some idea, at the last count there were as follows:
UK 60
Belgium 33
Holland 52
France 90
Germany 38
Denmark 4
Spain 71
Portugal 2
We also included all the clubs on the islands too such as Ibiza etc
We found almost no clubs in Italy, though there are a few house parties, but its very underground.
We classed every club as follows below and rated them on 1 to 5 stars. We list all their opening times, costs and facilities and where possible special events and their type of clientle. Jesus, it took a lot of work, and the book is big.
Classes:
Class 1 purpose built - ie Liberty Elite / Fun4two
Class 2 Sauna style clubs (you wear a towel) ie Chams, Rios.
Class 3 Nighclubs - Ie Fclub, Clublick, Xtasias
Class 4 - Swinging Hotels - Ie Buddies
Class 5 - House Parties - Ie Radletts, Secrets etc.
We were also at pains to point that some of them fit more neatly into these choices than others, and clarify that in any summary or review of the club that follows.
The best clubs are definately on mainland Europe in Holland, France, Belgium and Spain. |

Been to a couple of clubs in Spain (incl one that hosted a Swingers Wedding Reception - VERY horny!) and some in Germany.
My favourite was the PC Paerchenklub in Berlin. A former embassy building (they had a few to spare once the two Germanies merged) converted into a top notch swingers club. The clientelle was drawn from all over Germany and abroad too. I met and played with some Americans whilst I was there, amongst others. They run 24 hours a day at the weekends, and for the admission, they have a complimentary bar including alcoholic drinks, a running buffet, and facilites that you can only dream about in this country. All rooms were themed, were spotless and had ample supplies of free condoms available. For 110 Euros, who needed to go to a pub to have a drink, or to a restaurant to get fed, when it was all in the price...and with a spot of swinging thrown in... 
This country will never have anything to match it imho. |

I should just point out that this is for a single bloke. Couples get in much cheaper. At that at the time, the exchange rate made that into about £85. Compare that to a UK club where as a single guy you typically pay £50ish for membership plus £25 for admission you don't get any food you have to pay for drinks, and you get kicked out in the dead of night...no question which is better value for money. |
