I'm with Howard, never done it. Those statuses are from horny people and it's better to just crack one off rather than to be seen as desperate.

I messaged a guy who had a meet up once as we had a last minute cancellation,I liked his profile,we had a quick chat

All credit to him he drove 2 hours,went to a club which he had never done before and was a thoroughly decent guy

So yes it does work sometimes,not sure why people assume it's a desperate act to use the site functions though

I don't see it as desperation either. Sometimes some people have a bit of spare time and try their luck.

I've done it, along with adding myself to 'meet today' but haven't had any joy with it.

Replied to a couple once who had one up. They replied but didn't want to meet me - it was aimed at people already on their friends list.

I don't think I am that up myself to put that as an actual status,,,, I mean I wouldn't answer a single gems status if it was that, so why on earth would I expect to get an answer haha

Always throw them up just on the off chance, never expect an answer. But they have led to a few decent chats.

Does no harm in asking.
