Anybody ever got into Cosplay? We have dabbled a little bit and have been to a convention before. In that past we have done Psycho and Lilith from Borderlands, we are currently working on a 7 of 9 star trek outfit for her...
Some of the fun though is putting them to a hot use afterwards! |

Its quite good fun from both aspects, a bit of a fun roleplay kink when your alone. But also if you go to comicon or something there are LOADS of hot men and women dressed up as some of your favourite fictional charecters. |

If it's done well it's amazing. But half the time it is a massive cringe
I've been to a handful of festivals. Most recent being the ffxiv fan fest. Some hotties and some notties
Not something I do yet
(Need to work in the Khal Drogo body first) |

Erm, what's Cosplay?

Use google and discover a new world! Imagine people dressing up but taking it to the ultimate extent. Some people will spend a year working on one outfit to make it completely authentic. There are some amazingly hot people that do this. Its turned into an erotica all of its own. |

When I was thinner I went to London ExCel Comic-Con as Tifa (FF7 - Advent Children version). THAT got a LOT of attention!
After baby number 2 is born, if I ever manage to get my shape back, would love to do Lara Croft.

I've dabbled. Been to a few Cons and been amazed at people's ingenuity with their costumes.
But yes. I think the trick is to play someone you resemble closely, height build etc.
I recently cosplayed Harley Quinn for a meet I had, and he loved it. I wouldn't dare wear the outfit in public, but getting ready part doing the make up etc, just heightened the anticipation and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
Biggest pet peeve though? Steampunk hybrids.
The equivalent of hipster pricks in the cosplay world.

On the note of someone you closely resemble, it doesn't matter if you're a storm trooper, but they tend to clique from what I've heard. Purely because that's the nature of the role. I'd love to go as RoboCop, dredd, Zorro or v, but could also quite happily go as someone else... The bonus of going as Zorro is having a whip |

"Cosplay is fancy dress for adults. "
... and your point is?
(It's also about the making of the costume for many people. I've made some cosplay costumes before just because I enjoyed making them.) |

My point is grown ups give it a fancy name and think it is different from children dressing up as Elsa and Anya.it isn't . |

It's 'Costume Play' which is different to fancy dress.
Fancy dress is usually dressing up as something abstract. A princess, or a pirate, or a toadstool.
Cosplay is dressing up (with as much accuracy as possible) as something specific. Anna from Frozen, Elizabeth Swan from Pirates of the Caribbean or the Toad from Super Mario Bros. |

I've never cosplayed before, and being bald limits my options somewhat, mind though, I reckon I could pull off a great Quan Chi from Mortal Kombat, though painting my skin pure white and acquiring the spiky armour might be tricky. |

I cosplay on occasion, I've done Edward Elric from an anime called Full Metal Alchemist and recently I went to Comic Con London as Kaz Miller from Metal Gear Solid V.. would love to meet someone on here who enjoys cosplay as much as myself. |
