Unmade beds, I mean, no sheet, pillow cases, or duvet cover, I have seen pics of people playing on that, to me thats just skanky. No matter how perfect they sounded, I wouldnt go near.

Sometimes our house looks like a showhome, sometimes it's a mess, it is never dirty but it can be untidy, If we saw an untidy background it wouldn't put us off, but seeing a dirty lifestyle would, for example our bedsheets are changed before a meet "just in case we use the bed"

The house gets the "showroom look" if we organise a meet of course, not because we want to show off we aren't wealthy enough to show off but because it's like serving a meal to someone, presentation counts.

We have had meets where the people were in dirty tracksuits when we arrived, we have met people who have obviously made no effort whatsoever to "preen" themselves and we do find that a turn off. A lack of outside care doesn't bode well for personal hygiene does it.

There's no excuse for mess but furniture, wallpaper, ornaments etc are a matter of taste. You're going there to play, not to rent a room.

Some folks like a retro feel about their homes in the same way some like 60s motor cars or vintage fashion.

I am so glad that someone has put up this thread because its something I always notice. I cant help it, im a bit of a background freak. I wouldnt take pictures of myself in a bedroom if I hadnt made my bed or if piles of ironing were waiting to be put away. I wouldnt look at peoples furniture as such, but i would notice if the room was untidy

I think its really bad manners if someone turns up in a tracksuit or really scruffy clothing for a meet when the hosts have gone to the trouble of offering their home as a meeting place and have gone to a lot of hard work and trouble to ensure its in tip top condition. Its disrespectful for someone to turn up clearly not bothered to have gone to any trouble

I use one simple rule... would i dress or show my house like this to my parents? not good enough for them certainly isn't good enough for strangers.

Ewwwwwww. I hate feet at the best of times.

My personal faves are cock shots taken over a toilet bowl.

If only they would flush first.....

I've sent an e-mail to Real Madrid about the state of the seats in their dugout that I was photogtraphed in...seems they only get cleaned an hour before their superstars get to sit in them...the rest of us "prols" just have to make do...not good enough really is it?

We always have a squint at the background just to see what wallpaper border they have!...

I think you can summise a fair bit about the person/s by what kind of place they have..their dress sense, nick nacks etc, after all, its a fact of life (albeit a sad one) that we often judge by appearence, its normally the first impression/attraction.

I would imagine its pretty off putting to most (unless they are desparate, not fussy or the same) if they are looking to meeting someone to see that their house looks like its just been ransacked or the aftermath of a Primark sale..

It gives the impression of being lazy, dirty and untidy..and if someones house is like it then people may well judge the occupiers to be the same.

Which is a shame because its the peoples principles and personality which is probably the overiding factor...

Im not keen on seeing evidence of children in background pics either. Obviously some people have young children and babies, but I once saw a very sexy girl squatting on her kitchen worktop and it was an amazingly sexy pic apart from the babies bottles and steriliser unit, it just didnt seem to be in the right context.

ok il say it if the house looks a tip or its the dreaded cock shot with the floater in the pan or held against tv remote its a delete from me!! also do some people not check their pics before they post?? iv seen things that has took a lot of therapy to recover from!! and the best ones are the ones that think they are just it then u look at pics and its instant laugh!! i did mail a guy once because in his pic u could clearly see a family picture and i felt it just wasnt right to see that then his kids or whoevers xx

staffs

I've seen these scenarios on Web cams too! but pics can really give the game away. not just the decor but the 70's topiary/foliage demonstrating just how old some of the pics really are! lol

there are no excuses for your home to be filthy as it brings into question your personal hygiene, but untidy could just show a lack of skill or imagination when taking pics or to much junk in your home...chuck it out or recycle!lol...we cant all be david baileys but please when you look through the viewfinder check the surroundings too...better check all mine now! lol

I do look at the background in pics - a really dirty, messy room will def put me off - but 'normal' mess is fine - ie. a pile of clothes cast off in gay abandon is fine - dirty plates are nasty! Z
