I no longer read or answer or respond to profiles that have comments over 2cm in length (give or take millimetre). I suspect the people being excluded won't read them, and most people know about the key word in the last paragraph.
I wonder whether the detailed comments achieve their aims? |

Mine's fairly long but I like it that way since it lays out what I'm like and what I like. No worries if people don't like that and don't message me as a result; it means we're not wasting each other's time when we're not compatible. I'll know not to message you then, OP. |

If someone cant be bothered to read our profile then we cant be bothered to reply back to them. We state what we are or are not looking for so perhaps reading a little bit into a profile might help avoid sending messages which wont get answered, thus avoiding wasting time. |

Is a profile to let people know what you like and do not like..... If a profile is empty we do not really bother. However our profile is a little excessive but it does let people know what we are like... |

I wonder whether the detailed comments achieve their aims?" . My preference is for detailed profiles . It shows that the member has made an effort to describe themselves and and avoids having to ask too many questions if contacting them. |

My phone isn't calibrated. How long is your profile? I want to measure mine against it. |

We read profiles but are generally put off not by the length (some are quite witty) but by the long lists of dos and don'ts, rules and regulations and likes and dislikes.
We swing in clubs and so meet face to face, often finding that we get on really well with people that are not necessarily "our type" - we wonder how many great opportunities are missed by people who over specify their requirements in overlong and proscriptive profiles. |

If it works for you that is what counts. |

As many have already said, ours is long as it trys to inform people who we are where we are from and what we are looking for.
So its surprising when we get messages saying like you profile what are you looking for.
We normally reply read the profile this time and it will tell you.
