In the choice between perfect gym fit toned abs and flat stomach, or a bit of a tum with some wobbles and perhaps a few stretches here or there... we'd both go for the tum

But then, having a bit of a tum tends to go with having gorgeous curves in other places.

Sensible answer, I dislike mine a lot, and it looks like I've had 4 large children when actually all I have to blame is a lot of weight gain and loss over the past few years. What I've also realised though is no one really cares, and we're all our own harshest critics. One woman I was involved in a FFM with has identical stretch marks to mine, but I never noticed it at the time and she never noticed mine, it was only when we were talking another time.

Not at all I have one myself I just think that the constant 'real women have curves' and 'real men like woman with curves' comments totally absurd. All woman are real no matter wether they are a size 6 or 26 and every size in between. And all men are real regardless of which of those sizes they prefer.

I have had 3 sections no matter what i do I mine will never go flat, I've done every excerise going but because they have cut through my stomach muscles so many times they are basically fucked, I have now accepted this and try not to let it bother me, though sometimes it does

I think we all see things in ourselves that bother us far more than they bother others, sometimes we are our own worse critics

My Mrs has a tummy, bless her she is very conscious of it. But we have lived life and had numerous children etc which enables us to have a mature & fun outlook of life. I'll swap you. Try having your whole body covered in psoriasis (red patches of skin that make you look like a ****ing leopard) and being too nervous to be around any couples because you'd be too jealous of their perfect skin. Or people staring at you when you go swimming. Kids asking "what's wrong with you". Amazingly, various single guys have been lovely about it though.

From photos, it seems a lot of women play wearing lingere that covers their stomach up anyway, is this an idea if you don't feel confident?

Failing that, the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred is a very good beginners workout that tones up bits you never thought could be toned.

I have to say ....you opened a thread asking if women with tummys are a turn off, then when people give you the answers on here, you get defensive.

If you are especially sensitive about an area of your body, then you are taking a risk asking people what they think because you are clearly upset with anyone who doesn't give you the answer you are seeking.

Solution? Don't ask the question if you aren't prepared for the answer.

I've got a bit of a bigger belly than I would (ideally) like. I would blame carrying my 3 kids but it is probably more down to the years of excessive cider consumption and love of Mcdonalds. I have never had a man complain about it, one or two have actually said they find it particularly attractive

You do realise theres no such thing as 'beer belly' right? Thats just a myth build up over years of misinformation. You dont get a different type of belly from beer than say burgers or chocolate; fat is the same no matter where it comes from. The difference youre noticing is down to the person in particular and how the fat grows on their body. Some will go purely to the belly (the kind youre thinking off), and on other it will grow more evenly or on different body parts

Absolutely agree! I particularly like being constantly referred to as a 'skinny minnie' - makes me feel great, that one does! Childbirth leaves few of us unscathed! I don't have a big tum but it's not flat and toned either! My boobs are far from perfect and I have so many veins on my legs they look like a road-map of Britain! I may be a size 10 but it sure doesn't make me 'perfect' - nor does it mean that i'm ultra confident and need 'taking down a peg' at any point. Slim women are a seething mass of insecurities and imperfections just like everyone else girls and boys - big tummies or not!

Youve said that already, but what youre forgetting is that the MAJORITY of men on here fall into that category who would fuck anything. So lots of the answers youve gotten will have come from them as well

I see plenty of those every day on here, and I would say the same thing to anyone that felt the need to be downright nasty to anyone regarding size or shape or whatever.

I get grief from friends for going to the gym and being a 'skinny cow', but hey, that's okay. I'm assuming they think if you lose weight you lose feelings too.

No one seems to mind mine only me. After having a baby and losing 2st dramatically through having gallstones has left me with loose skin, apparently it doesn't look as bad as what I think but it's always there in the back of my mind

I have been very interested reading this thread. Snap! I have also lost 6 stone after life saving surgery. I know the scars are a small price to pay for my life but I am still very conscious of my stomach. It hasn't put anyone off yet but always worries me........
