After being on here for a shirt time,I'm starting to realize there's some really picky people,especially about short replies showing first interest or even winks,which sometimes I do if they say winks are ok as an icebreaker to show you are interested.
. Anyway there's quite a lot of singles and couples with really short profiles,but want an essay off you and say they wont answer or just delete short intros.How long or short should a message of interest be shown if you meet their criteria,a courteous reply should be given even if its no thanks.
Ok that's off my chest,can carry on getting ready for work now,be interesting to see reply's,short or long acceptable in a forum lol |

I wouldn't bother messaging profiles who stipulate how long a message should/shouldn't be, they seem like they'd be hard work ! I always tailor a message to the individual based on their profile and try to inject a bit of humour and personality without boring them senseless ! |

I don't want an essay,I much prefer a facepic that way if i fancy them we can chat and see how things go and if I don't I will politely say sorry your not my type, saves alot of time |

My philosophy is if I have to send s meaningful or unique message, one that isn't just a "how's you" and attach photos. Then I expect the same in return.
I've had messages from people whose profile is a list of demands about what they expect in a message and something that gets their attention, yet their message to me is nothing like that at all.
When I message people i try to tailor it around their images and profile. I mention things I like about them and what they have said. If their profile is short and I have nothing to go by then I don't bother |

We have a decent sized profile, but all we say about messages is that we want something more than just "hi".
We don't expect an essay, won't respond to a list of demands and have no interest in putting codewords in messages |

I do add face pic to all my interests,perhaps that's where I'm going wrong,I'm just scaring the hell out of them haha |

I find it strange when the first message asks for a face pic when they have neither a public one on their profile or one sent with the message.
To me if it's polite to send a pic first if you are going to ask for one yourself.
