STAY AWAY FROM VIRGIN MEDIA

Send them an email, copy to self. If they don't contact you after a week contact local ombudsman. Tell them what you are going to do and see what they do then.
I myself use free serve and NOW TV, no problems. |

I've been with them for 5yrs now and found them to be exceptional on all fronts. The one time I needed an engineer they got him here in just over an hour, for free!
Trouble getting online and drop-outs is often caused by router settings, try changing the channel on your router in its settings menu. If it's a fault with their network then give them time, the weather isn't exactly ideal for engineers to be travelling all over the place chasing faults at relay points. |

We've been Virgin customers for years but unfortunately the quality of customer service has dropped. A few years ago we would get really helpful staff and would receive the occasional courtesy call. Now we're looking for an alternative. |

I'm with Plusnet.
You might not get bt sports or Netflix with the service but you do get a stable connection and UK based support (call centre is in Sheffield)
I'd advise you to stay well clear of talk talk who have the worst Customer service department I've ever dealt with. I was on 0.2 meg connection in Manchester for 3 Months even with several engineer visits. Plus net sent an engineer and within 20 mins I had 60meg connection |

I've been with virgin media for about 15 years and I love them the only downside is their foreign call centre but never really had any problems... so far |

Touch wood never had a problem with Virgin Media, well nothing major. Their customer service team can be a little frustrating at times but no different from any other media company of that size.
Hope you get things sorted out! |

I fell out with them a year ago now and it was down to their customer service. They still insist that I owe them money as apparently telling them "your service is shocking and I'm moving back to Sky!" Isn't adequate to cancel a subscription. |

Rubbish, dial 150 from your house phone, plus there is a link on their website to complain or you can write to them |

Well there are customer services in England as I spoke to someone yesterday, was lovely as a decent conversation understood by both, had I spoke to their call centre abroad, I would have put the phone down |

this is how you would test your own connection to find faults on your internet connection
also informed on cableforum as well
if your having trouble start by using speedtest to test your broadband speed connection
another test that you can do is at pingdom and test your ping and also test your traceroute and insert the below numbers
this is a game server
185.12.240.100
this finds any problem that you may have as it will be dropping packets
if you have any red you have a net problem
if any problem with your connection goto the option of disconnections via 150 on virgin media |

Iv'e got Sky at the moment because I couldn't get Virgin Media in my flat. Having had Virgin Media for years previously I would still much prefer them. Whenever I did have a problem with the service they would do their best to try and resolve.
Sky's prices are exorbitant and the service is only ok. And they have to rely on BT to fix any external problems - and their customer and technical help is really poor!

They have an office in wythenshawe I think....go round and arrange in person for an engineer to come round, while he sorts the problem tease him and seduce him and then you'll have your very own engineer if you have any future problems! |
