Was just flicking through chatrooms, loading up the "hot" cams and there it is ... a silhouette of a person.

What makes a person want to go on cam with all the lights out and only the glare from the screen barley show that you are there, just not that visible.

I know its up to people if they want to cam or not, but why bother if you purposely sit in the dark?

Bit like the photos on some profiles, so dark there's almost nothing to see.

To be fair (to some), I decided to start up the cam on the laptop a few nights ago for the first time. Have a light immediately overhead but with one of those energy saving crappy bulbs in it. Was really surprised how dark the cam looked - must be to do with the bulb. Should I wish to go on again, at least now I know to add additional lighting

I cam in a few other places as well as here and see this a lot I always feel sorry for these people as I just assume they are so poor they can either afford the internet or light bulbs but not both

I often wonder that.

It's so when their partner gets up/gets out of the bath/gets in from work they can see a light come on, and can then close the FAB page quickly and open The National Geographical page they had ready!!!

That way the 'single, yet can't accommodate' people who aren't actually single don't get caught

To be fair there are a lot of people who don't like wanking with the light on.

Especially if there's a mirror nearby.

Might put them off their stroke!

The neighbours get nosy when the light is on

Some people are shy or want better light like that to hide them a bit more. Some people also can't afford a better webcam so the picture comes out a bit naff, such as those on laptops.

We bought a Logitech 1080p top of the range one, it's amazingly good and changes light level/focus on its own. It's fantastic but expensive. C x
