We are hosting an event at a club for curvy ladies (plus partners). So we have been messaging couples and single ladies profiles that have 'Curvy' as the description of the lady asking whether they would be interested in coming along.

we received a message back saying 'how dare i call her curvy' and as a stranger i have no right to do.

I never called her curvy i merely asked if she'd be interested in coming to a 'curvy ladies ' night.

Am i wrong?

Dave

Just messag back saying

Hey it wasn't me who called her fat she stated she's curvy

That should resolve any offence

I did, i pointed out to her that it was her own description as 'curvy' why i wrote to her. I never called her curvy or even mentioned her size at all.

Perhaps advertising the event and letting people contact you might be wiser?

Only about 1% use the forums on Fab so not many would know about it. She is the only person from a very large amount of messages that has taken offence.

I disagree if they put on their profile that she is curvy it is acceptable to send an invite

I agree

Some women are so touchy

Where is this event anyway and will there be men there

I'm 'curvy' and have a couples profile with my husband. I would certainly not take offence

This ^^ !

As a woman, it can be quite sensitive to be called (by default) anything other than slim. You *have* to pick a body size description & it's not necessarily one you want to pick!

I would never have replied to you in such a way but a tiny part of me would have been a tiny bit affronted. Perhaps she was having a bad day!

Define "curvy" for us it's a woman who has a good figure with "curves" Ellie's curvey, more so now, but when not pregnant she has curves in the right places

We have been to parties based on the hosts contacting us so I don't see anything wrong with messaging people,it certainly doesn't warrant abuse because people are touchy about the size they have stated they are

No, you were fine; she was touchy; bad day, perhaps

I would come to a curvy night as long as there was a buffet

If you describe yourself as curvy expect others to assume you are. Some women really make me laugh on here

The reason we have started hosting these monthly events is because we have found that some ladies wouldn't try a club because she was a little body conscious.

Lol curvy to me means boobs and shapely bum/hips, but means different things to different women so bit of a grey area. *tread very very carefully lol* Even better, *make no reference to it at all*

O o O oo

If you are messaging unsolicited about an event then that is against site rules anyway...maybe wait for people to mail you, less problems
