Now and again I go into my gmail spam filter to do a spot of cleaning.
I usually give the folder a quick scan, just in case anything important has ended up in there by mistake.
Spotted a message from an adult dating site advising me I had unread messages or something. I've logged on occasionally when i've had such e-mails, but don't actually recall setting up an account, but there you go.
It's one of these where you can browse and flirt, but can't actually read any messages sent to you nor send any until you start parting with the readies.
Anyway, I noticed a number of things wrong with my 'profile' for a start so I thought, OK, maybe I'll make some use of this and so went about correcting all the information.
Anyway, cut a long story short (too late) I clicked on something which pops up a subscription window and there displayed on the screen as one of the many benefits of paid membership were the immortal words 'Hookup guarantee'
I have to admit, it did make me chuckle, especially considering that only the other day there was a thread on here regarding Site Supporters and if it improves your chances.

"im lost ! "
Sorry, i've probably made it far more confusing than it needs to be.
I just felt that a little context was necessary before mentioning what the site is 'guaranteeing' if you part with money.
I think the point I was leading to hinting at was that no site can possibly guarantee meets, hook ups, sex whatever, as has been discussed many times in these forums.
I just found it amusing seeing this 'guarantee' yesterday having only made a comment on a thread just a couple of hours earlier where someone was asking if being a site supporter would improve his chances of a meet.
Does that make sense now? |
