Apart from knowing what you need to know about someone so you will be compatable and get on ok, I think the less you know sometimes the more interesting they seem. I mean if you don't know about what type of work they do and stuff you can guess.

I don't tell the people we meet details about my life, work, children, my address etc. I usually meet people at clubs and parties and discussion tends to be about swinging or general chit chat rather than in depth confidences.
Even those people we message via fab and meet, chat is not centred around personal details of my life or theirs. I can have a great time and bond well with people but they are not friends in the true sense of the word, they dont get invited to Sunday lunch or meet my family. My swinging hobby and my real life are kept separate.
So in answer OP I don't ask them lots of personal questions because I'm not really interested. I attend a regular party and meet the same people month after month and we have bonded well as a group, Ive known them for over a year, I still couldnt tell you what they do for a living.
Swinging is just a hobby , I think its extremely naive to reveal too much personal information to strangers on the internet. |

I think it is very easy to tell people more than they really need to know. Sometimes I find myself getting into 'life history' mode and it is not appropriate.
Tough call though. |
