I've noticed a lot of women go for rugby player types, then others go for athletic types. I know everybody is different and everybody has different tastes.
I just want to know what is the ideal body for a man? Hairy/Nonhairy athletic/muscly?
It is impossible for me to be "a rugby players build" as my genetics simply won't let me unless I go on steroids which isn't happening lol. Just curious, these forums are quite useful when I'm bored and got some spare time |

One of the bodies I have to play with regularly is lovely. It's fairly muscular but not overly so,and hairy-ish. Slightly taller than me and strong arms |

There is no ideal, different women have different preferences, sooner you accept that and just be yourself then you won't give a toss about trying to be something for someone else
You're still going to have quite a high metabolism at your age and if you're training then to get that rugby player body you will have to stack in the calories, 4000+ a day I'd expect. Once you get past 30 you'll start to naturally fill a bit more I'd think too
Anyway as said stop worrying, you'll appeal to many women with an athletic physique you're just getting a case of wanting what you probably won't get with the ones after the chunkier rugby player look |

Everyone is different and everyone likes different things, personally I like toned athletic men with a hairy chest, if they have that whole 'v' thing going on then even better (and a beard or stubble and tattoos, sorry getting carried away here ) |

Not all Rygbi players are chunky Gareth Thomas, Mike Phillips and Liam Williams are just three Welsh players that spring to mind and not one of then have an ounce of fat between them! |

I'm totally chilled here You asked a question as to what the 'ideal' body is. Answer is...erm...there isn't one Sorry if my post came across as a bit direct but it came across like you wanted the rugby player look but wouldn't be able to achieve it
Based on your last sentence "
Haha it's sound I didn't mean it like that. I knew there would be a variety of opinions and wanted to hear them. I appreciate your first answer though fair play |

Only the odd person enjoys my skinny/slim physique, but at least that helps filter out a lot of people
Shall probably work out a little more to have more success, but hopefully somebody I chat with will get along with me regardless. |

I'm not obese at all, but I have some extra junk in the errr.. well midrift...
But most of the updates want skinny work out types from what I see.
But I don't believe the updates if I'm honest, I think they just want to get attention. Its the people that don't post updates all the time, they are the majority.
I have been told too skinny isn't nice. So I suppose to have a little muscle or bit around the middle helps...
Meh |

And then you'll most likely burn those calories up as fuel, or you'll get fat - not everyone has the genetics to build masses of muscle. |

Is rugby player build the male equivalent of BBW? I ask because I see it so often on men's profiles, blokes in their 40's/50's. One chap wrote a very condescending message to me including his height and weight and the fact he USED to play a lot of sport in his thirties. He described himself as rugby player build but when calculating his BMI he was in fact morbidly obese with a BMI of 40. Replied that I wasn't interested in overweight men and he went ballistic, the air turned blue and I magically turned into a fat old slag despite being a gorgeous girl in his first mail |

I'm not too concerned about hair but not keen on hairy backs! Though a size 10 i'm quite tall and far from skinny - so I like a guy to be taller (or as tall) and bigger built than me - though definitely not fat. Flab is a huge turnoff for me. A gym fit body with a six pack is lovely - but a guy who clearly exercises regularly in any field is fine as long as he isn't really slim - as that makes me feel fat and ungainly!
Goes without saying he has to have a great personality to go with the nice body too! Xx |

Lol! No. Look at the Welsh rugby players, they are fine specimens of men! Leigh Halfpenny though, was tiny compared to now before he got into the welsh squad, now he's a tank lol.. It isn't the male equivalent of a bbw because they have hardly any body fat, obviously some to help get the weight up but they're also solid! Although, I have mates who are bigger lumps who envy my metabolism Don't listen to that guy though, turned sour because he wanted something he can't have. Seems very childish though for a bloke in their 40s/50s! |

I very much agree with you about the wrists, but don't see the point in eating additional calories if your intention is to then spend more time on the treadmill. This is fine if you specifically want to improve your cardiovascular endurance, but serves little purpose for building muscle. |

"Makes me laugh these little dudes that get beefed up on steroids and wear the tightest t shirts.
I'd rather stick to pumping girls not pills haha"
Hahaha! I tried it once when I was 17, all my mates were filling out and I ate more than the lot of them put together and being a bricklayer at the time used a lot more muscle than any of them but still stayed slim! It got annoying so started training with a typical roid head, who talked me into it. Done it for a month and seen incredible changes in strength and size, but they also made me real cocky and that's not me! They don't just change you physically, mentally to! Fuck that shit! Not just that, as soon as I stopped taking them the gains I seen also fucked off with them haha, so all these juice heads as soon as they stop will be devastated, all that hard work for nothing! |

well the cardio is only there to help. a lot of people bulk up and have no regards to cardio so they just end up looking fat. i think cardio should always be apart of the work out but varies if you bulking cutting or losing weight |

People end up getting fat when they eat more calories than they're burning, hence it makes little sense to eat more calories then do cardio to burn them off as ultimately, what was the point of eating an excess that you THEN have to exercise off, when you could have simply ate as you would normally whilst continuing to push yourself on the weights? Personally I've found I'm at my hungriest when I'm at my strongest, I see no point in force feeding. |

I prefer a more athletic than bulky appearance, tall, and quite strong as I'm a big strapping girlie myself! A good natural shoulder to hip ratio is what trips my trigger - slim hips just wow me (maybe 'cos mine are not wide).
