To me, it shouldn't be banned for exactly that reason...people can choose to write however they please and if that acts as a filter that helps you work out if you want to meet them or not, all the better |

Maybe I'm too polite but I usually reply if only to give the sender a brush-off.

i dont like it but if youre taking notes its handy- anybody ever learn speedwriting - pretty much leaving out vowels and a few other things- text speak reminds me of it |

It started in the days when folk mostly had text & talk phones and you were limited to the amount of characters you could send in one message. These days most of us have access to querty keyboards even on phones and you could send War & Peace in 1 message, so there isn't really any reason to use it  |
