There are no new camcorders on the market with nightshot due to issues with making some fabric appear transparent with the right lighting. I found this out when trying to get a camera to film rachel and her regular outdoors in the door without using a white visible light that anyone could see.
For a £100 However i bought an adapted second hand camcorder which had its IR and UV filters removed. In conjunction with an IR light which came with it and that cannot be seen by the naked eye when illuminating, the camera will record in total darkness up to about 10 meters with exceptional clarity. It's actually sold as ghost hunting kit.
If you'd like to know where i got it from DM me so I tell you the website. Can even email you a few clips shot in total darkness to give you an idea of just how good it is.
Hope that helps. |

if you go IR you'll lose colour and end up in a strange grey mode, get freaky black demon eyes and doesn't really look great (imo).
you'll really need camera with low lux mode, and a hotshoe, get a small scalable led light on the shoe. with low lux cameras you won't need a miniature sun beam type light, just a small one.
I'll look what's good on the market, when I'm at my computer. |
