Size14 isn't even close to being a bbw....unless your about 4' tall.
I would say 18 is borderline, depending on height and build. Many of my best meets were with a bbw but personality is far more important than looks or size in the long run anyway |

No...you are definitely a bbw.
You might be fat too, but you're definitely beautiful....so that makes you a bbw...even if you don't like the term.

People can call me whatever they want. I'm a big girl and am not really bothered if I'm called bbw fat or any other variation etc because I'm OK with myself and happy in my own skin. What does get to me is when men send messages along the lines of "I prefer bigger anyway" like they are doing you a favour sending the chub a message. I do just fine! |

I'm a large lady, I don't have an issue with it, it's quite clear on my profile if you don't like it don't message me, I've a good personality I'm loyal to friends and trustworthy, to me that's the making of a beautiful woman, labels are clothing, good etc not for human beings xx  |

I agree, it is largely to do with proportion, when you look at pictures many women are very optimistic lol, but some are also modest.

Having been a size 24/26, I've been big but sure as hell did not feel beautiful like that, so I would never have used BBW.
Now I have lost a lot of weight (17 stone gone) and am a size 10/12 but consider myself as average.
Its all about what you feel, not the label in your knickers thats just a number. |

Not everyone will like the term BBW and that's their perogative, terms like that will always be subjective.
I go to BBW events and have no issue referring to myself this way.
I'm a big girl, in height as well as dress size and I believe that every woman is beautiful in their own way. |

Your never going to get a clear cut answer to this age old question because we all like and see things different, men who like slim women will see a size 14/16 as big where as men who like big women won't, you can't be attractive to everyone and I see no point in worrying about what people who don't like my size think about me

As others have said, the size it starts at is a personal perception. I don't like the expression BBW as we are all individual, not just a body type.
Sophia Loren was beautiful. I've always liked her quote. Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical. |

As a curvy (38G bust size 16/18 top 14/16 bottom) woman I have struggled with outer confidence in the past but definitely found here there's someone for everyone's personal preference.
In regards to the thread everyone describes themselves how they see themselves. I've seen slender women with gorgeous bods describe themselves as curvy where I would define them more athletic.
And likewise I say I'm curvy not bbw. I have gathered bbw lovers consider it the bigger the better rather than a particular size. |

Slender women can still be curvy tho - its a shape not a dress size. I'm a 10/12 and been told I'm curvy as I have an hourglass shape... whereas I think I am more average.
As for the "real woman" comment, or only big being beautiful, I guess thats down to the beholder.
When I was big, I didn't feel like a BBW, I felt fat, ungainly and ugly, hence working my arse off (literally) to get to where I am now. |

My point exactly. I didn't at all imply they weren't. My point stated we all see each other differently than we see ourselves. So the terms available to describe ourselves are pretty much open to interpretation of the profile viewer |
