Does changing your account mean that you never met those that would reverify you?

I'd love to know the thought process behind this one...

Well they are still the same people as they were in their previous profile so why not ask for the verifications to be transferred?

In my opinion, 70% of (verifications) are falsely done anyway. Just to get people on (FAB) established.

If someone has a new profile but with different things on it like they are no longer a cpl or now they are both straight etc then you are not actually verifying the same people !

Ive seen some that read " Met xxxxx a couple of years ago on another site and they were really great company"

Is that a true indication of the people at this moment in time ? No , the verification system should be used to verify what that person is like now not that they were a good meet 2 3 4 years ago

When i set up this new account i had 3 people send a verification to help my profile get started and declined their offer

I've never had to do it because I've never been away however I can see why shouldn't do it. I recently did just that for a lady I know who's rejoined. She's been at my place plenty of times, I've had lots of fun with her, so have others. Those things happened, hopefully they'll be happening again soon. What is the logic of saying that I and others who've met her in the past shouldn't verify her and why shouldn't she verify us, we're all genuine?

I've reverified someone. He was a nice guy when we met a profile ago and he's still a nice guy. I speak to him outside of Fab now and then so if he pops back on here I'm more than prepared to reverify him again. He does still exist in real life so why not?

that makes no sense I think you have the misunderstood the meaning and point of a verification it is to verify that somebody is a genuine and real person not a description of your last sexual encounter also you don't always to "have fun" to be able to verify someone

you are on a wind up, only explanation as to why you would make and keep going with a silly thread, a verification isnt there to reveal about the most recent encounter or to keep upto date with what people are doing, its there to get an idea that the person/people have met people and are in fact who they claim to be on there profile, you have got to be trying to wind people up with this thread and comments.

He's only keeping this up because there's something that's got to him. I think someone is not re-verifying while re-verifying someone else

Surely a veri is simply to say that you are who you claim to be (be it female, couple or male) and that you turn up when a meet is arranged.

If it's the same person (or persons) surely the veri still applies.

I've seen a few 'new' profiles with a list of half a dozen veris in as many days, but most start "met xyz a while ago on another profile/site...". Anyone reading that can make of it what they will.

A veri is merely a way of proving someone exists. Doesn't really matter what their username is or where they met. Certainly doesn't matter what they got up to.

If you have met the person, you have met the person. That is the crux of the matter

And as with all the previous comments, to which I completely agree with, it is still up to you to take a look at any verifications on any profile and make a decision based on that, if they have been received or "earned " then why should they not be still valid ?

I can see two sides of this argument.

I can see the validity in OP's comments in respect of those who choose, for whatever reasons, to leave fab, only to return at a later date. Of course, they will have lost all verification's when they deleted their account, and are essentially setting up a completely new profile.

I can also understand the position that some take regarding asking those that know them to 're-verify', but in response to this, I would just make the comment that if someone I had met left the site, I would lose any veri's they had given me - which don't re-appear when they re-join. Yes, it's possible that they may 're-verify' me once I have 're-verified' them, but there's no guarantee now is there.

And again, as someone else has said, what if a couple's account is deleted, maybe due to separation, and they both come back as singles.

I'm not sure that completely banning the practice is either practical or the right thing to do. I guess site admin may have their own views on this, but in my opinion, the only way to effectively eradicate this would be to have a system that was tied into some form of appointment system, that you make your meet arrangements through - which, after the time of the meet will prompt for certain responses such as whether the other party turned up etc.

Even then, this could be open to abuse

what's to stop anyone, even a newbie/pic collector from posting saying they had dozens of veris previously and hoping lots of actual strangers would give a veri where it's not deserved - specially if there is hint of rampant sex with non existant female from pics?

Changing profile name shouldn't lose existing veris, closing and starting new profile would. But who's to say the new account is actually related to the old account?

I could start new profile claiming I was YOU , even pinch and crop/doctor copies of your pics, and hope to adopt all your friends and veris - would your friends really know??

The last guy I reverified I texted him first to ask if he wanted me to. Someone would have had to have his phone number, his photos, his personal details, his mannerisms and his specific brand of forum banter to adopt his persona. And it wouldn't have achieved anything if they had anyway. So yes, logistically speaking you could but it would be an absolutely pointless exercise.
