We both got tested lately but we had a little thought.... If you had something should you contact the people you had been with?

We always use protection but certain things you can still catch from Oral...

Yes and I have done. Mainly cos I see the people I met as that... People... But also because there is a small selfish part of me that doesn't want it again and have to send the message again after my next routine check up. Oh and you can still catch whilst using protection, not just orally as there is no such thing as 100% safe

yes you should... keeping the swing community safe and sti free requires constant vigilance with testing and communication... if your partners are good enough to fuck they are good enough to tell them to get tested and if necessary treated

The clinic will offer to let them know if you don't want to, although I often think I'd struggle with their first names, let alone phone numbers etc.

Luckily its never come to that.

You won't be riding anything sideways if you've passed something on and not told those you've met.

Ignorance is not bliss. Especially not in the swinging context. Sometimes you have to be responsible adults. It's not all fun and games when shit hits the fan.

It's scary when you're on the receiving end of that type of message. I was just glad I was clear and didn't have to pass the message on.

Northampton

yes of course you should.

and i would hope most meets have the persons telephone number, so if you really did feel too embarrased to tell them yourself, give the phone number to the GUM to do it anonymously.

and make damn sure you didnt touch anyone til you got re-tested as clean.

like a few have mentioned, some std's can be passed through non penetration (whether its a skin to skin like a few can be transmitted), or 'if' they have an std, you give them oral.. then kiss them... then they give you oral. some can be passed that way too.

Treat others on here with the same respect you would want to be, and give them as much warning as possible to be tested. much better to be treated than fuck someones fertility up long term, for example.

Off course you should let them know, and don't play until it's definitely cleared up and been confirmed it is...

Hi all, Of course its a yes, tell them as soon as you know, we where told at the hospital about an outbreak of oral chlamydia, as most people who have chlamydia don’t know it, since the disease often has no symptoms. So we made contact with people we had meet, some took in in there stride , but one couple who we did not even play with ( you can transmit though kissing ) got right uptight, and blocked us along with a message which was very upsetting. So would we tell if our tests came back positive ? YES be safe be happy . connie xx

Some people are idiots. They were probably the sort of people that never get tested. Hope you pointed out you may have got it from them! x

You should but if everyone gets checked as regular as we are lead to believe they do they would find out for themselves soon enough anyway

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I would love the idea that contracting STIs is 'dirty' to be reconsidered. If most FB members are of the opinion that having NSA sex is not dirty then why do we feel so when some twat who doesn't get tested passes an STI on to us? Also, accidents happen. I had a condom break mishap at the last greedy girl event I went to and was at the GUM clinic the week after to get tested. All clear, but if I had contracted something, why would it then be me considered dirty?

I am all for people playing the way they wish, bareback or not. But once we realise that visiting a GUM clinic isn't anything to be furtive about, maybe more people will do it and the STI rate will decrease.

Oh, and now MOST STIs are easily treated by a course or injection of antibiotics, again I reckon they're something not to be feared as much. The worst of course are the ones you are stuck with for life, two of which ironically are not prevented by condoms. Yet if I catch herpes from someone who 'forgot' to tell me they had the virus, suddenly I'm the one who should be ashamed. I don't get it, personally.

We see GUM as a part of swinging infact some clubs have drop in clinics, although I wouldn't class someone as lacking maturity for not going we don't see anything to worry about.

In our local we are a first name and a number and they are totally confidential.

No question you should tell people you have been with if there is ever a posetive result.

As has been said though some clinics would do it for you.

There is still so much shame surrounding sex and sexual behaviour, it's sad in many ways.

Although we used to think the geeks are a bit behind in health care , not so, if you work serving food or drinks you have to legally have a health book, to show you are free from aids, hepatitis, and all other sti's , which is nice so if you fancy a waiter then ask to see his book first..lol connie xx

This is interesting what legislation is this please? Mo has the Mickey taken out of her at work because they found out she say been tested, she's a commis chef and no one in the kitchen or front of house have ever been tested. It would be good to put it back at them
