I'm a newcomer to these Forum pages, so I don't know if this topic has been posted before, but here goes anyway.
I'm a Single Guy. Yeah, I know that some of my peers behave like total eejits, so I always tend to behave the opposite way of the others.
That means I view all profiles responsibly; I only answer those which are seeking Single Guys; I answer politely without any profanity, or crudity; I always answer each one differently (no copying and pasting from me!) and each reply is tailored to suit the people I'm replying to.
But has anyone noticed a trend of late, when a polite appraoch is met with either instant deletion (without, I may add, the person even looking at your profile), or in some occasions, they place an instant block on you. Has anyone else had the same happen to them?
All they have to say is "Thanks but no thanks". Oh well, their loss, not mine!
But it is infuriating! |

we have blocked a few guys, and couples come to that some couples too, usually the reason is a message comes through that says "how are you" or would you like to meet me today" trouble is they are not accompanied by any other info or a photo, we never bother with people, guys or otherwise without a face pic. cant see the point of long drawn out convo with someone only to find out when you eventually see a pic they are to put it politely not what we are looking for.

You dont know that they havent looked at your profile because folks can choose the option to show whether they have looked or not....
People block for different reasons. Its annoying but dont let it bother you and just concentrate on the ones that havent blocked you.
Ive just counted and Ive already done 24 'thanks but no thanks' messages today and its only 8pm. Gets a bit tedious... |

To the OP.....as a single female its also infuriating when we get lots of messages from people who clearly have NOT read our profiles!
You messaged me a long while ago and you clearly do not match my preferences which are clearly stated on my profile.....so as you couldn't be bothered to read I didn't bother to reply, simple! Hope you get the gist of why you are having problems! |

Its not just single females who get emails of people who havnt read profile properly,we lost count the amout of emails we get where its obvious our profile hasnt been read,we block those if the sender cant be bothered to read and see what we are looking for we cant be bothered to reply to the email. |

I can understand what you have said and I too have had approaches from people whom I don't like the look of, but always send back a response.
I'm not as bothered by those people who won't reply at all; that is their right but at least I know where I stand.
But it is those people who block without reason. If I was hugely abusive or offensive to them in writing, I'd understand, but as I've said, I tailor my response to their ad' and always, repeat, always remain courteous and polite in my approach.
Civility by all costs nothing; it's indeed a shame that not evryone practices it.
it is the people who just instantly place block me from contacting them again |

Genguy, what you need to get a grasp of is the fact that the site provides every member with the facility to block other users.
Nobody needs to have a reason or offer any explanation as to why they have blocked anyone.
Get over it, move on - there will be plenty of people who haven't blocked you so stop taking it as a personal snub .... |

People block so they dont get another unwanted email of the sender, they dont want anymore contact so easier to block and saves you the time of sending another unwanted email.
Dont take it personally as its obviously bothering you,we have been blocked by people and we dont loose any sleep over it |

They do have a reason though! Their OWN reason to block whoever they want to and don't need to explain their reason to anyone!
If someone putting a block on you is getting to you that much that you need to start a thread about it then is this really the place for you?
I am sure there are people in normal life that you don't want to speak to for your own reasons and here is no different, some people will speak to you others won't want you to contact them again and therefore they block you from doing so, they are using the features the site has set up for just that circumstance - not that difficult to work out really. |

Nicely summed up, I must add.
I'd really put this on to see if others had had the same experiences!
To balance out everything, I've had far more postive responses, so I must be doing something right! Aggravating as they are, the negatives are in the minority.

I block people after telling them their not my type to prevent further messages being sent, saving us both time, to avoid any potential unpleasantness from the rejection and so I don't contact them in the future when I realise their not my type when I see their pic. It's not personal.
My problem is what to say to guys I find interesting but currently don't have the time to take further. |

Quite rare for us to block anyone, but really some people deserve it.
Same message almost every day by people who obviousley send out the identical message to hundreds of people, never listen to your polite reply of "no thanks" and are generally pains in the arse.
No wonder they don,t get meets |

Diamondlady,
Your response sets it out in a perfect world..but it isn't a perfect world!
If someone takes the time to say "No thanks" or even to state why not, I do not spit my dummy out and go into a rage.
They get a courteous Thank You message from me and I leave it at that.
I acept what you say about the ones you do want to follow up on; I'm still catching up on people who expressed interest in me weeks ago! |

Why dont you concentrate on the people who expressed interest in you weeks ago instead of getting wound up over people who have blocked you? |

I wouldn't fret.
I think the blocking function is a great "FAB" feature!
Something that I utulize, not that often I admit.
I'm not into blocking because the other party has blocked me, it's there loss as far as I'm concerned.
That said, sometimes people block you without realising, especially in the chatrooms, which at times are so fast moving.
Chin up fella, as other Users have said, concentrate on the one's that ain't blocked you! leave the others to follow your trail.
More importantly, welcome and have fun.
Paddy.

one question - if someone blocks you, do they still stay on your friends' list or is that deleted when they block you? never witnessed it happen, but just asking of curiosity.

seeing as it was you who contacted them, meaning you wanted to meet them, and it was them who didnt reply to you, meaning they wasnt interested....how can it be their loss? lol |

I probably hit the block button more often than the TV remote, our profile states that whilst we play with single guys at clubs we do not meet them off the internet and do not want any form of contact from them online, it further states that any that do contact us online will be immediately blocked.
Seems fair enough to me, either they didn't have the courtesy to read our profile or worse read it and chose to ignore our wishes in favour of thier own.
The same rule is applied to couples, those that contact us with "wont meet smokers" on thier profile or those that contact us despite one or both of us being outside of thier age criteria.
Normally that's me Jed being 10-15 sometimes 20 years over thier maximum age criteria, yet still they mail us for a meet, they are timewasters and go on our block list, again our profile states we don't meet people who think I am too old for them or Sasha too young since we would start the meet feeling "last resort" or "inadequate" "last boy picked for the cricket team" and that is no way to start a fun meet.
For us Blocking is just a way of stopping someone contacting you again and for wasting your time. |

This is how we use our block function. We get a lot of mails, so those we like and want to meet with eventually we put on our hotlist. Those who aren't our type for whatever reason, get a "thanks, but no thanks" reply, then we block them so we don't get confused in future. This methodology started after we kept getting repeat messages from the same person a few months apart. |

I block people that have messaged me - I've responded (or otherwise) and decided that I'm not interested in meeting - I block them so they don't waste their time
(or mine) by messaging me when they've forgotten about it! It's not personal just common sense! |

The first full paragraph on our profile states that we don't want to meet single guys and we ask them to respect that decision. So when we get mail from single guys, we block and delete the mail!
If you receive unsolicited mail from say, a cock enlargement place, do you reply? No and the mail you have sent is also unsolicited and as such requires no reply! |

Hi, very furious here but gradually calming down and seeing the funny side of just being Blocked.
We had exchanged a cpl of messages with a couple whose names we wont repeat to save them embarrassment.
THEY asked US for msn to chat and get to know eachother as they would like to meet if all liked eachother.
A second message arrived when we said we were off to a club they announced they were unable to get out and again they said they would love msn chat, again!
They weren't on msn as we came on fab after a wonderful club evening, so we sent a msg to update them on the fun we had had.
Response....we don't read stories we have been swinging for four years,,BLOCKED!
Wtf lol blocked immediately thus not being able to reply to such shite.
Bloody cowards...Got a feeling Mister wanted to MSN. |

like _lumsy colin this is supposed to be about fun lol.some on here take it too serious as if it is a major part of their lives . its only when it gets to that stage that you need a reality check on whether swinging is taking over your lives lol. thats why i just move on when people dont reply or when they just delete without even a reply lol im cool with that . Some seem to think the sun shines out their behinds and they are God s gift to swinging or fabswingers lol . |
