Thought I'd make my debut in the chat rooms, didn't last long to be honest.
The pace is 100 miles an hour - within a minute or so the conversation has gone off the top of the page. Not that there's any decent conversation at all, just 2 or 3 work exchanges, I'm failing to see the point?
I don't really use chat rooms anywhere and 10 minutes in the ones on here reminded me why!
Anyone else use them? Am I using them wrong?
They seem popular so maybe I'm missing something?

I've used chat rooms on every site I've ever been on until I came on here. They have to be the most unfriendliest chat rooms ever and trying to get someone to talk to you is like trying to get blood out of a stone. I stick with the forums.

One tip, which i think works, is to block anyone who doesnt interest you.
That way you only see that typing which does interest you at a slower pace.
It works in reverese of course, anyone who has blocked you cannot see your comments either so it pays to check a profile as to whether you can message them. If not, no point in *chatting* to them in the room them can't see you.
Another issue is that some people, for their own, reasons, appear in many rooms at the same time yet can only *chat* in one of them. make sure your in that room.
ps it may be different for platinum/gold/silver members. |
