Socials - as in big organised ones are a good way of increasing your network of like minded people. Don't really see them as a play opportunity more like meeting future play mates. Thats why the advice is given ( and usually ignored) to single males. They reap the rewards of their efforts. |

If you want to move elsewhere to play after attending an organised social that's fine but the ones we attend are in a normal pub and no sexual activity takes place.
They are socials in the true definition of the word  |

Depends on the social. There are two types: Pub and Club. Socials held in a pub are strictly no play (why would you want to?) but many people will be staying over at local hotels or are fine to invite others back to theirs. Club socials are a lot more likely to have play on the night because of the venue, but no-one is expected to get naked. The last social I went to at a club I didn't take my dress off all night!
Socials are really a way of getting to know people, not a way to get shagged. But they can open all sorts of opportunities for shaggery  |

I view socials as an oppotunity to network... "try before you buy" and a chance to see what people are like in the real world!......
I view them as a relaxed friday/saturday night out where you can really let your hair down...
damn i am going to have to start going to more of them again!!! |

I attend quiet a few socials in the past and took on some great advice, most of it was basics like Politeness, respect, presentation/appearance, but found turning up at these events was great a good night out and when I attended a club or party I played more just due to being recognised from these events. So would always advocate attending them  |

Nip along to the meets and organised events forum and have a look at "Sussex Social" and "Brighton Social".
people meet and chat, get to know one another and all very discreet, nobody turns up with an "I'm a swinger" tee shirt on and no one behaves inappropriately for the setting, our drinks money is as good as anyones |

Yes anybody can organise one, why does it have to be a specific person.
Post in the forums with when and where and take names down, but as in a pub could be a bit difficult to be exclusive.
I know the Manchester one was in a hired room, and there was one in Wigan like that a while ago. |

Socials can be organised in a public place anywhere. I have been to mini socials in coffee bars with less than half a dozen people, pubs and with over 100 attending in clubs.
Sussex is lucky to have a number of socials organised. But you can never have too many in my opinion |
