nope nope nope nope nope .. the thought of anyone pulling a tooth out of my skeleton freaks me the fuck out *barf*
sorry you are in pain
the standard OTC for tooth pain as recommended by my dentist is 400mg ibuprofen plus 1000mg paracetamol every 6 hours.
if that doesnt touch the pain, go back to dentist for some hardcore painkillers.
as for the bleeding, buy a pack of lil-ets (tampons), cut it down if you need, and use that to hold against the site.
gargle with salt water or use what they have given you (if anything). do all you can to prevent an infection setting in.
no smoking, or drinking anything too hot or cold and no straws. but they will prolly have told you that anyway.
I really feel for you
look on the bright side.. in 2 weeks, the pain will be gone
((((hugs)))) |

"Lovely, I have a molar I need out and this made me feel totally OK about it.
"
This time last year I had the biggest fear off dentists first time I had been in 10 years and I cried and had a panic attack from just a examination since iv had two wisdom teeth removed 4 fillings a crown and a back tooth today only hurt so much cause couldn't numb it up fully and was infected so I wouldn't worry xx |

Ouch! Were you not given any after care info? Pretty sure you really shouldn't rinse with anything as yet? Let the natural clot form and leave well alone. If the clot is dislodged by rinsing you could end up with a ' dry socket' and that is even more painfull! Think the rinsing thing ok after a few days to help heal tho ... But not so soon ... Best wishes |

I feel for you. I've had a tooth pulled this evening too. Came out far easier than yours did by the sounds of it. I was using Paracetamol 200mg X2 and Ibuprofen 200mg X2 every 4 hours four the pain, some aspirin every now and again too.
I have to have 2 wisdom teeth out in a few weeks too. I want frigging morphine for that lol.
Wish I'd taken better care of my teeth. It's costing me a fortune |

DO NOT RINSE YOUR MOUTH! If you do or have you may have developed a dry socket, this is where the blood clot has been washed away leaving exposed bone which can become infected. You should contact your dentist immediately, they will be able to place a soluble dressing in the socket for you & give you antibiotics. It is very unfortunate you've had this bad experience but don't let it put you off going to the dentist, regular check ups & prevention are the best! |

A year or so ago I went for a routine upper molar extraction after a week of intense pain. The dentist snapped the tooth off after 2 mins. He spent the next hour and twenty mins trying to remove the roots then my nose started pouring with blood. He'd pushed the root through my sinus!! The bastard then had the audacity to make me drive to the dental hospital so they could fix me!! I was covered in blood and people were crossing the road to avoid me. Wouldn't wish that experience on anyone!! Well maybe one or two.... |
