I was thinking of visiting a&g's club tonight in Huddersfield as according to the website thursdays are the best for going along to get a feel for the place if you're a non-member.
Naturally, I'm excited by the this, but also a tad nervous. I've had meets and been to parties before, will this be that much different?

Not really. Same ground rules and common sense apply. Stick a smile on your face, be polite, and try not to hang around the corridors and play rooms as many couples and single fems find this intimidating or pushy.
Dont be frightened to approach people in the lounge areas, and initiate conversation. And if things seem ok, dont be afraid to ask if they want to play. If it's no, say it's been nice meeting you, wish them luck, and move on.

Was ok in the end, and you were right it was similar to a house party.
Could only stop 2 an a half hours, and during that time not one person was playing with anyone, but I did arrive about quarter past nine and to be fair it was a good laugh at least and everyone was really friendly. Thought you might get the odd upitty fool in, but pleased to say everyone was relaxed and down to earth, which is how I think it should be.... |
