Its strange, MY libido is fine, but its like the numbing is keeping me going... almost indefinitely.

And its harder than usual. Strange side effect but I'm not complaining. Neither is anyone else, if you know what I mean. xD

Not sure if its normal or what. lol

Hehe. Yeah. I was on this stuff about 4 years ago and I forgot about the "Side effect" of having a wood one lasting all the time.

When I came off the stuff I was out of action (in bed, sweating like hell) for a good two days.

Wont cold turkey these things like that this time. Learned my lesson.

... Wondering what to do with the "Side effect" for now. xD

Tramadol is an awful drug. It's a synthetic opioid which metabolises the same as morphine. Doctors are being advised to prescribe it over codeine because it's supposedly less addictive but the jury is still out on that one. As for longer lasting erections, I doubt it's the tramadol because it lowers blood pressure. What else are you taking?

Ive been taking tramadol for well over 5year due to joints that dislocate very easily. I am addicted and hate that fact.

I was recently in hospital, I was very ill and was put on morphine. And stopped taking tramadol. I thought this would be a great time to stay off of them, but that was never to happen. Had to start taking again due to pain. I cant take any anti inflams im allergic

If you have just started to take them please be carefull. If I could go without out them I would. VERY ADDICTIVE.

But tbh taken carefully they are fantastic for pain. I would have been bed ridden without them. And ive managed to do all the things with my kids that I was so badly missing.

Hope you are feeling better soon

I have been taking tramadol for a long time, i take it because of severe pain and although it doesn't get rid of the pain it does dim it to being just about bearable.

However i have had no problems with it being addictive, at times i have stopped taking it and used another less effective pain killer, i did this to see if i was addicted to it but luckily i had no withdrawell effects at all so i guess i am very lucky.

Recently i was on hospital for a while and i had paracetemol, ibruprofen, codiene, tramaol and morphine and had no problems as such

I can't cope with the severe pain i am in so i don't have any choice if i want to function and work etc.

It's a pretty strong painkiller and you won't get it for long as it's potentially addictive.

Sometimes they tell you to take it with paracetamol it apparently makes it work better.

I was lucky and had no side effects when I took it but I only was on it 5 days.

Long term I've no idea. I'd ask your GP or even the Chemist.

Don't drink with it and NO recreational drugs or it could bye bye forever!!

Its not the tramadol causing that, it can prevent ejaculation but it will not make you harder or stay hard longer, like you have been asked what else are you taking.

Think the Tramadol addiction has well and truly kicked in with the forum post tbh..

Claiming to have done cold turkey on the same medication would have been unforgettable in the First Instance ..

Breaking your toe and getting addicted to tramadol !! wow - that's new.. most folks have to Limp for a while.. but no doubt you will now have to claim it was crushed for such like Tramadol addiction..

Sorry op you fooled me for a bit and if it wasn't for such observant others pointing out that your injury had moved from your hip to a - Broken Toe - I was fooled..

Yeah. I've had a hip injury for about a year which got worse. I've been trying to train through it at martial arts. the other week we did a throw, and I fucked up.

Landed bad, and my little toe on my left foot was at a 45 degree angle.. Sideways. One trip to A+E and three massive injections in my foot later, I had to take more of the stuff.

So yeah. Call out what you want, that's what happened.

OK update on this stuff.

If I take about 3-4 of the 50mg in the day, I can go for ages and it still goes off.

6+, it wont go off AT ALL. No matter what I do. completely frustrating for me and anyone else.

8 (ish) and it wont even go up. AT ALL. Not kidding.

Starting to think this stuff could be used for premature guys as well in low doses.

I've been on tramadol for a spinal injury, so I cant say I felt like fucking in the slightest, though I did manage to carry a large speaker cabinet up twelve flights of stairs and the only reason I managed that was because I was so fucking stoned off taking one that I forgot I took it and took another and was then actually drooling.

Generally though, you shouldnt get that effect off strong morphine-based painkillers.

Indeed. that's why its odd. Like I say, I was taking like... 3-4 a day spaced out of course for hip pain - Then I broke my toe so I upped to taking two at a time of the 50 mgs.

Oddly, the doctor recommended it. Its actually helping the toe to heal because i'm still walking, driving etc.

but the side effects sure are strange..

Lucky, my hip pain has been there for a long time, not sure if its Sciatica or what. Its mild most of the time but I had to have a lot of time off work a few months ago due to it, hence the pain med.

Think its nerve related, they say - fortunately nothing noticeably debilitating, just something trapped somewhere.

The side effects are fun, but I would prefer to NOT be in pain and have to take them.

Unfortunately the varying dses are also a necessity. The only reason for the change in dosage and frequency was a broken toe while I was on them, so the doctor said take more. : /

Hence how I noticed the "changes". xD

a doctor will not vary your doses, if he/she puts the dose up it stays up til he/she takes it down again, they dont fluctuate between taking tablets or on a daily basis.

a doctor will not vary your doses, if he/she puts the dose up it stays up til he/she takes it down again, they dont fluctuate between taking tablets or on a daily basis."

My doctor does ..... i have a maximum ammount I can take but i take less if i don't need the full dose, he leaves it up to me and i sort it out to suit the pain i am in each day (some days i take all 8 other days i take 2 but then back to 8 the next day, varies like that all the time) ... its the same with all my pain meds, i take the amount to suit the days pain !

Exactly the above - on a good day i'll take like... 4 pills. up to eight (two at a time) on a really bad day.

Being pain meds, i'm told to take when required.

...But they can knock out my drives!

Err with pain medication your doctor does not specify a dose he specifies a range and allows the patient to decide what is appropriate within that range hence the box says.

"Take 1-2 no more than four times a day".

That is a huge range of dose you can vary between.

Unless s your simply things the mg per tablet.

"Its prescribed.....

The shit that's going on with my cock is just an amusing side effect.

I'm simply observing the odd results and I thought i'd post here to see if anyone else has had similarly strange results with them.

Fucking around with dosages in your own home experiments is very irresponsible. "

No it isn't it's actually what your told to do your given a "safe" ceiling dosage and told to take whatever amount under that that works for you the idea being your not just mashing u nessecery high doses of painkillers all the time you can take less when you need less and more when you need more.

When given strong pain killers and allowed to take at will (ie nor fixed regular intervals like in hospital) patients almost universally use a dosage lower than prescribed. This is a good thing.

Taking the maximum all the time is a bad thing ad your gonna build a tolerance very fast and then will have have a much harder time tapering down at the end of your course.

I've never taken the max dosage. I think that'd make me violently sick.

As they say, this isn't my first outing with this particular medication - I know the rules, good sir.

I take what i need each day plus other pain meds on top of it, however i havn't built up a tolerance to them and can easily stop them with no side effects when i take completly different strong pain meds instead (if i run out of tramadol)

Doc says it's all fine

If you don't have a tolerance then you're not human. Do you not notice the same dosage taken regularly does not affect you as much as the first time. Ie your not as out of it.

to opiates people build tolerances very fast which is why they're meant to be short term drugs

Someone I train with has Severe Fibro and they are regularly prescribed way higher doses of the stuff (like 200mg tablets vs my 50mg ones).

Without them she cant get out of bed, its a permanent thing for her. Not a great way to live but it is what it is.

This is a better reference - Poor lady cant move without Tramadol.

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyalgia/Pages/Treatment.aspx

Treatment listed as "if over the counter pain medications do not work" etc.

Its all there. ; )

Yeah its to let you know your hurt. There is no godly reason to endure it once you're aware and action has been taken.

They are right, don't worry.

I shouldn't HAVE to endure the pain but the NHS is absolutely useless at finding out what's going on with my hip pain, so its this or I cant work.

There really isn't a godly reason why I should have to be in THAT much pain : /

I was referring to him mentioning different doses of tablets ie 30mg or 50mg a doctor will give you 1 or the other and then give you a range to take them with a maximum amount stated, they will not give you all different doses of painkillers and advise you to mix and match when you feel you need to.

London.

Harder to come off tramodol than heroin. Be very very careful. In fact disposal can be done via your local chemist.

See, the thing that worries me is I seem to get more answers from some FIll-in temp GP when the ones that are regular aren't there..

Like they actually care, god forbid .

Appreciated.

Oddly the checked my spine, MRI - nothing wrong. the thought it might be like.. Sciatica or something.

Basically my right "Nutstring" is inflamed, and the ball and socket join in my right leg (under my asscheek_ feels like someones got a Tarp clamp on it.

Painful as hell without the meds.

Its nothing like an infection or anything, that's all clear .. so no panic there.

But it IS getting somewhat debilitating.

Much appreciated. That's the part that pissing me off the most, I've had this injury best part of 3 years now. the hip part got much worse in the last few months.

I want to KEEP going to the gym, not just train at martial arts (which we checked, isn't the cause).

Feel like i'm losing the best Fitness years of my life.

It depends on how many you take, I posted further up about my experiences with it.

Too little, it wont kill pain. Medium, hard but might not Cum. Too much, cant get hard. lol
