I am better in wedges as the foot isn't as tilted as it would be in a stiletto or other high heel.
I love my Topshop 70s wedges that look ridiculously high but don't make my feet ache because it has a high platform at the front as well as the heel.
My biggest fear is going over on my ankle as I fear of breaking my ankle |

Practice, and gel pads.
I wear heels pretty much all day for work and very rarely get sore feet.
Also ensure your feet are in tip top condition - so exfoliate and moisturise the wee-est piggies down there too! It does help.
Feet will hurt more when you get dehydrated too (or maybe thats just my weird experience) |

Its another instance when practice does make perfect.
I very rarely wear flats (cos I'm a short arse lol) & find that my feet don't hurt in heels, even when I'm wearing my ' follow me home and f*** me' shoes. But the gel insoles are very comfortable, so if at first you don't succeed persevere
Happy strutting,

to all of the above, from a fellow shortarse
I remember seeing a show about ladies having collagen injected into the balls of their feet to alleviate the pain....
When my feet are tired, even my most comfy heels are a pain.
It's not just about the height of the heel though but where the bend is. I have some lower heels that aren't as comfy as ones twice their height.
I find the gel pad thingies don't have much effect once my feet have started hurting but need to be there from the beginning. |

Practice practice practice. I rarely wear flats, and when I do they are flip flops or trainers which results in Shin splints & hamstring pain... lol give me 6inches any day |

Platforms
6inch heels with no platform means you walking around in 6inch heels all high, 6inch heels with a 4inch concealed platform means your walking around in only 2inch heels but still look as good |

I love heels and am a bit of a shortarse but can rarely wear them for long. Narrow ankles and a high instep leads to ballache. However, a high heel wearing friend of mine once pointed out that the pain was a constant reminder that her feet looked pretty. I have tried the gel inserts and they do help a little. |

Practice. My friend Gemma has some of the most amazing shoes and can wear them for yonks (technical term there). Although she did take them off when she got back in my car after clubbing on Saturday |

Seems the answer is to wear them more often! Funny though as some of my lower heels are harder to wear. Im just glad the chunkier heel is back in as stilettos are certainly a challenge! |

"I love wearing sexy heels....however, inevitably my feet become the killers not my heels! lol
Any advice? x"
Don't, that's the best advice. The best you can hope for is bunions in a few years, the worst is crippling osteo arthritis of the large joint in the big toes, at its extreme requiring surgery and/or mobility aids. Is it worth it just to be a tiny bit sexier than if you wear two inch heels? |

Stretch your feet and calves before a night in heels. Basically stand on the stairs tippy toes heels over the edge. Then lift and drop like pressups stretching the calf and foot and making the whole area ready. Also making fists with your feet on a carpet.... Sounds weird but works like a massage xx |

Best tip ever for me is make sure your feet are cold before putting them on. And once on try not to take them off until the end of the night ot your feet will swell |

Wear them as often as you can, this exercises the foot and ankle and so allows them to be worn without much pain.
Gel pads work as they cushion your sole and heel.
Also, the drop from heel to sole can be helped with a raised platform....I have some five and a half inch heels from New Look, and they have a one and a half inch platform...so only a 4 inch drop. I also have some 5 inch heels from Dorothy Perkins but only a quarter inch platform so the drop is actually higher.
But heels is heels, and always look great.

Buy 'stripper heels' as in brands like Pleaser and Ellie shoes. They are designed with more padding and have a rounded toe. You need to heat them with a hairdryer to get your feet in but I can definitely wear them longer than normal heels. And they go up to 10 inches! |

It's best to try and wear them often, breaks them in and gets your feet used to them. Gel pads work but only if worn from the start, and usually once your feet start hurting they won't stop. Worst thing you can do is take them off as it'll feel worse when you try to put them back on.
I've tried various things, no one thing seems to work all night if you've an uncomfortable pair and i've ended up carrying them home. Just suffer for beauty daaahhhhhlink! |

What's it do?"
It smooths the shoe and the coating from the soap means less friction and no rubbing. It makes em so comfy and your feet smell beautiful |

I started wearing heels at about 13 as I was so short and got teased. I started small but as everyone grew but me they got bigger. My late teens I never wore lower than 3inches highest 6.
When I was pregnant I had to stop as I got so top heavy I felt I was going to topple over and bought my first flats at 21. My hod did my legs hurt. When I went back to heels about a year later for a big night out I put on my favourite comfy heels and I had to take them off after a couple of hours they hurt so much. My balls of feet felt like they were on fire. I used to wear them all day with no trouble and I felt so sad |

Given the lack of podiatrists posting I'd like to say these exercises really work. I had them as physio for foot pain but the stairs one strengthens your ankles and stretches calves and hamstrings too - oh and they make your feet and legs feel amazing at the end of a long night xx |
