The simplest way to look at it is............some like a wink, others hate them and some are indifferent. Read profiles to see if they specifically say no winks and message them instead. |

I don't think it's that but you can get quite a few a day and I personally don't have the time to go through them all as well as my messages. Though occasionally I will quickly scan through them to see if anyone catches my eye |

Completely understand that but surely it's a compliment winking at someone |

I never respond to winks simply because i never know if they have sent it because they are interested in me as a individual or have just sent it because I'm a woman and the law of average says if you send enough out someone will reply, i don't want to meet someone because i was that twat the law of average picked out |

I don't see the issue with winks, I,ve looked at profiles and thought, jeez shes hot but way out of my league, so I,ve winked, never been told off for it by anyone. I don't think its lazy either, surely its less intrusive than a message ?? |

I wink people as quick test of the water to see if there is a mutual attraction off pictures if I receive one back I go on to message the person.
I don't see why some people hate winks so much they are a harmless tester as I see it anyway. |

I agree. It is a harmless way of expressing an interest in someone. Just letting them know that they have caught your eye.
I don't see them as lazy at all.
If someone winks at me, I will look at their profile and in some cases I may wink or message back.
What I find lazy is profiles without pictures and / or profile text.
I do wonder how some people expect to get any meets when nobody can see what they look like or find out anything about them. |

we don't mind winks if they are an icebreaker, theres nothing worse though than receiving a wink then when you return 1 everything stops or when a profile into totally different things wink |

"I'm intrigued as to why a wink can be seen as lacking effort ?
Surely it's like catching someone's attention in a crowded bar ? "
Clicking a button or spending five minutes to write a nice well thought message, which says more effort, after all you only get one chance to make a first impression.
Thats our view anyway. |
