We look and unless that tiny little picture of who sent it leaps off the page and strikes us with its hotness we don't bother looking. Messages however we check the lot. |

Yes...and if someone interests us, we often wink back or message...We've had some great meets that have originated from winks, we find they're a good ice breaker |

I do not think many on here take winks in the same way!.
I think of a wink as a cheeky hello have looked at your profile and like it.
But from reading other posts on here many seem to think that a wink is just a lazy can not be bothered to write a proper mail.
Lets keep winks fun and cheeky I say |

Yes I do and sometimes send them out just to see if there is any interest. If I get a wink back then a nice polite message is in order.
So many well constructed and polite messages get ignored. |

I'm pretty shy when it comes to making initial contact, and I often feel reluctant to take up others people's time uninvited - so sending a wink is my way of saying "hi" without imposing upon them.
If they check me out and like my profile (which is quite detailed I think) enough to send a wink or message in return then I'll send an appropriate reply and face pic.

Depends whose sent the wink. From couples/women yes but single guys no because theres enough of them to choose from the ones who make an effort and write a message. |

I usually send a message thanking them for showing interest in me, My profile,
And see where it goes,
But I don't receive many so I can see why Women just delete them. |

Like I said, so many well written messages are ignored. Winking is not lazy and when used properly, can always be followed by a well constructed message of introduction.
Not all single guys are lazy and this can be seen when re_iewing profiles and verifications.
I receive winks from women, couples as well as single guys and it show me that there is some interest, thus prompting me to take a look at the winkers profile. |

"Love a good wink and will return one and follow up with a message if I like the look of profile...also go on winking sessions when I have time... "
That's great...It would be fun to go on a wink fest. Forum only, as hate to piss anyone off who hates being winked at |

They may be there a day or two, but to be honest, some may think they are lazy.
In fairness they are proberly a nice little tester, seeing how the land lies.

Maybe from your point of _iew but as a couple, and Im sure its the same for women, we get bombarded with single guys wanting to meet. So if we get 10 to 15 messages for every one wink, often from a guy who clearly hasnt read our profile because hes such a poor match that eventually you just ignore their winks and only give time to those who make more effort. You say well written messages are ignored and that maybe so but at least they were probably read. A lot of the time winks are deleted without so much as a glance at the picture. Our profile asks that single guys tell us why they think they stand out or suggest something different they can bring to the meet yet we still just get winks or messages saying "hi". No effort means deleted it IS lazy sorry. |

Of course....as the site FAQ page says...they signify interest. It would be stupid not to look.
I may not take further action...but not looking is just stupid (or damn lazy).
Had a few good meets off the back of winks. |

Not very often, no.
But then we very rarely send winks either.

We changed our profile to looking for single guys today without ego the winks have simply got out of hand. Not even bothering to look at them for the time being. |

We do check them but only if we have time. If we get a wink from someone we like then will just wink back to show we appreciate it.
Much prefer messages with face pics more as this site becomes time consuming |
