I LOVE tattoos but only good tattoos. If i see one more half tribal sleeve on a guy i might weep. And the gothic script quote round the collarbone, dear god. |

"haha nothing worse than a big tribal piece!!! "
May I suggest you check out 10 worse tattoos on Buzzfeed or other similar list sites! There are a lot worse then big tribal pieces.
For the record I have over 100 hours worth of ink. |

"turn on or turn off?? im half way through my chest and 2 sleeve pieces....debating to get a full leg sleeve next! Whats your views? "
Definitely a massive turn on,a sleeve and chest is perfect. Not so keen on leg tattoos for some reason |

Why isn't full leg sleeve called a trouser?
Tattoos are very much an individual choice,If I was covered in them and loved them I wouldn't be asking for other peoples opinions,id just add when I wanted to
Having said that although I only have a small one as a reminder that teenagers do silly things,I do like to explore other peoples, even if they're shockingly bad |

I have a full back piece, all in black. Priest from the exorcist being burned at the stake surrounded by images such as skull or demon cherub carrying evil nuns. Also have tats on my chest, arms and legs. Not one tribal piece lol no gothic script either. But I do have my kids names on various places and my wifes name across my throat
My wife also has quite a few tats. But the one place she doesnt have any and I hope never will have is on her boobs. Tattooed boobs are ruined boobs in my view. But each to thier own |

I love them. As many have already said; they look great if they are well thought out and done well.
Check my butterflies out. I love them. Pretty and colourful. Spot on for a bisexual fella I hope |

I like tattoos in general but yes some look awful. I'm not going to say all mine have a meaning behind them, some I just got cos I bloody well liked them. They are all in places so that if need be, I can easily hide them all.
I was at a swingers party this weekend and had my first ever negative comments, not just about my tattoos but about tattooed people as a generalisation. I couldn't tell if she was joking at first but she just went on and on. One particular line I remember was that she would 'look on in sympathy from the nice nursing home at you tattooed people in the nasty nursing home'. Erm ok love. |

With us the lady of the couple is heavily tattooed and the male has none. We've heard this is very unusual for a couple but that's just the way it is.
Tattoos can look great and amazing or they can look awful so there definitely isn't a yes/no answer to this. It depends on the tat and it depends on the person.
(edited for a blatant typo) |

Neither of us have tattoos, some of the art is very well done but don't consider it to be sexy one bit. Also think when you get old & wrinkly & your skin starts to sag they might not look so good. Yet to see anybody over 65 with a sleeve, as these are relatively new & appeal to the younger people.
Having said that we appear nowadays to be in the minority, but as to whether others like them, on here it's a resounding yes. You only have to look at the most regular faces on here, with the most fabbed photos, invariably they are skinny girls with lots of tattoos.

"I would like to know an example or two regarding a correlation between the tattoo and the person I would not want a tattoo that gave out a misleading aura x"
Ok so here's an example then...
I'm a geek sooooo
I have, for example, PI to about 30dp, several Golden Ratio images, a couple of equations (one being the equation of the time period of a pendulum - swinger...)... several 'Impossible' figures etc etc
Thats my geek arm
My other love is art and I have a Dali portrait on my other arm
Oh and a BDSM logo tat in plain sight that only those in the know, as it were, would know what it is...
So yep, all mine is very personal and all designed by me. |

oh and a 10hr sitting portrait of the Time Machine on my back that links in to my PI work...
One woman once asked if that was my phone number!
I now say cock size lol
PI and Dali get the best reactions...especially on hols this year
Tattood n employed here |

I like nice tattoos on a nice body. I like patterns, quotes that are obviously significant to the owner and quirky symbols.
I hate faces of babies / kids / famous people. Unless the tattoo artist is top notch, they can end up looking scary or comical.
My step daughter has a large one of her first son taken from a photo when he was newborn. In the photo, his finger was peeping out of a blanket. In the tattoo, it looks like an ugly little sleeping man in a woolly hat with his penis poking out of a blanket. I didn't know quite what to say when I saw it! Just awful - and it's with her for life. |

"For the sake of it - turn off
Well thought out or meaningful - turn on"
Agree totally
Like above, if Ink has been done by a good artist, then definitely a turn on, good job really as FWB has full front, back & sleeves |

Neither for me if someone has them fair enough if they don't same ,
Its the person I am interested in not the artwork,
Yes I can appreciate good ink even if it isn't my thing, is down to recognising the artists skill .
And yes I have ink.
Full backpiece, full sleeves, chest panels, ribs and belly, and both thighs

Blimey she sounds very open minded, not !
I have three, can all be hidden and generally are. They are all personal to me.
I love ink, love the artwork and story behind a tattoo. |

Tattoo's are definitely a turn on for me, i have a fair few tattoos myself and its more an artistic expression than anything having meaning.. Not keen on names and dates always think they look tacky but that is just my preference |

On males a couple can be a turn on, a lot or badly done ones is a turn off. On females, depending on the content of the tattoo, it can be a big turn on. For some reason it seems females can get away with bigger and more tattoos. |

To me tattoos are not about any attempt to improve or cover ones body, but a way to express oneself in a broken world where we are all supposed to conform to some notion of normality.
I only have the one at the moment, though I have a few more planned which I am still drawing. Each one, has a specific meaning to me and represent me and how I got to where I am.
At the end of the day my tats are for me, if others like them or not, in all honesty it doesn't really matter.
So to answer the original question, I cannot really say that I find tattoos viewed in isolation, a turn on or off, rather I appreciate them as art. However they can be a turn on if they have significance to the person.

We both like tattoos in general, but it has no bearing on the sexiness or otherwise of a person.
I (Mrs) have a few tattoos on my back and have never had any really negative comments, though the spider isn't everyone's cup of tea. Some have described hubbies solitary (and very carefully planned) tat as scary, though it doesn't seem to put people off. |
