I keep seeing in posts and the forums people that only to meet other professionals.
Who do you consider a professional??
I would consider myself a professional as I have my own business and people pay me to do a job they can't do themselves but (as one profile suggested I should be if I was a professional) I'm not of great intelligence nor am I particularly sophisticated!!

I agree, but the tone of the profile makes me think they wouldn't want to meet a binman/ shop worker/ builder. I dont know that for certain before anyone gets cross with me but that's how the profile comes across |

I would think if they are looking for professionals they wouldn't want to meet a binman or a shop worker. But so what? If they want to meet a certain type of person that's up to them. I don't see why it's an issue. |

It always makes me smile to see professional listed as an atribute to swinging.
A become professional a person must undertake a higher level of education, become skilled in their work to a level agreed by a governing body and work within ethical guidelines set out by the governing body.
I would suggest, looking at some peoples profiles that they fail to be professional on most counts... Unless being dyslexic is a new profession of course. ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

Oooooo that's a bit mean!! I know a lot of people that are dyslexic and are miles more intelligent and are in far higher paid jobs than me!!
I've got almost no qualifications but in my industry experience ( which I do have) counts a lot more, but by your standards I'm not a professional, |

I think "professional" has just come to mean highly skilled in an area of expertise...
I don't think we have a particularly descriptive word for this, so most just use professional now.
I don't think it's a big deal for most, I think they are mainly saying "have a job, have drive and ambition, a little sophistication and be able to talk" |

And not sure about sex being the great leveller? Debate maybe?
It's not the gun, that was the great leveller.
In contrast sex is a divider, socio-economic, religious, self-righteous and genetic lines divide who people can/can not have sex with all over the world.
I use myself as an example, in the last 3 years, I have barely been out of the uk (holidays, couple of short biz trips) & have connected with very few people, in short, I don't fit in anymore.
On the other hand when I lived in West LA, I couldn't move with out slipping into a group/scene friendship etc...
& when I was required to stay for extended periods in the Far East, would meet someone in every bar, hang with them for months, find cliques...
Maybe I just came back old? But all I know is there are plenty of sexual dividers. |

I do apologise, I'm not being mean just simply stating a fact, google it and check it out.

That's the catch with google...
Most of us are guilty if reading the first description we come across on Google and deciding it's the most relevant.
& although a complicated algorithm does place what it decides is the most relevant to the top, it doesn't take into account the 10s of other possibilities...
With words, their strict definition is rarely the way they are most often applied.
Maybe we just need to borrow some German or French words... It's what we usually do. |

yes there are many profiles that have a certain tone but as I meet at clubs and partys.that tone is certainly different to what there profile portrays when there at a club or party.there people who like a laugh and good sex like us and enjoy mixing with all types of people.
but if there looking for professionals on here then good luck to them I dont see it as a issue either. |

I suppose that's another downfall of not being professional ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

We know an ex headteacher who was employed as such for twenty years. He had a breakdown due to stress and took early retirement.
He then decided to return to work and got a job as a bin man.
Is this chap a professional? |

There is nothing wrong with those with dyslexia, there are many successul and/or famous people that have it from actors, athletes, Entrepreneurs, Business Leaders, Judges, lawyers, politicians, writers and journalists. Just because someone has dyslexia does not make them thick, stupid or incapable of becoming a professional, in fact those that have made something of thier lives have often had to work harder and for longer than the average joe ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |

Fair point, what I was trying to say (and did it badly!)was when people are naked &until they speak,we are all at the same starting point..no clothes no uniform no professionalism. ![](/icons/s/cool.gif) |

"Why does everyone get so het up by the use of this word?"
It's only the same as BBW, bi guys, VWE, age etc. Some people get annoyed when other people have preferences that exclude them. |

I can't agree with that, a naked person still has traits that give their background away from hairstyle to manicure to tattoos. The inequalities are in the observers mind in my opinion. |

A professional is someone who can type professional without a typo. And you don't have to look far to see those who can't!
Seriously though our hottest friends come from all walks of life. The only common factor is, they all love lots of imaginative sex.
P.S. Ms Welly Wearer (who started this thread) please get in touch - I have 17 pairs of wellies, for both bed and muddy puddles. But I can't message you for some reason. |

We remember saying once to a Free Mason and a car park attendant who were both irritating arses "You can take the person out of the gutter but you can't take the gutter out of the person".
Being professional or not being professional dont always make you a better person, we all get labeled into categories but its totally irrelevant to swinging.
We have friends who are wealthy professional people and also friends who dont have a pot to piss in but to us they are the same, personalities are what attract us to others not what they have dont have in wealth or education. |
