As you didn't go with the intention of being watched and don't seem to have been turned on by it I don't think you were dogging.
I do not believe that the presence of a canine is required for dogging to have occurred, but that may depend on if it showed any interest.

To be considered a true dogger you do need to wear an army green/khaki jacket with a pair of paint stained jogging bottoms. Anyone not wearing this uniform is probably from 'The Sun' doing and undercover expose on filthy Britain. Dogs are not essential but a lead is.
