So then, when it comes to women, what makes the difference between a tart and a Slut?
We've had the pleasure to meet more than several 'total sex sluts' along the way and we're not quite sure what makes them different from the sex tarts!!
Rich reckons the only difference really between a tart and a slut is that s slut doesn't ask your name first lol
But there is a difference
So for the others on here who have had the pleasure of meeting a total slut (and we're are sure you will know *exactly* what we mean if you've met one of these devine creatures).....
What is it you think that makes these girls stand out from the rest?

We know two total sluts, her and me
We’ve always interpreted it as a tart = looking, dressed, acting as, but a slut is.
So a fem might go to a swing meeting dressed as a tart and if action takes place then she may turn out to be a slut.

I would like to believe that in the open-minded community of swingers, one no longer needs to be labelled with a tag! Therefore, I shall ask the question: does it matter? |

Exactly, no one should label anyone. |

I think the difference between a slut and simply someone who enjoys sex is that a slut does it purely for attention (to gain someone elses attention rather than their own gratification from sex). They don't necessarily enjoy it, they're pretty much emotionless about it.
Whereas someone who just likes an active, varied sex life for their own pleasure is very different in my book!

We could ‘almost’ agree with ‘we don’t need labels’ as we hate them too, but if we’re honest its not the labels we hate it’s the preconceptions that people have with them that cause the problems.
Everyone in this thread at least is a ‘swinger’ and while we might all be comfortable with that it can take on very different implications in the vanilla world where you/we are all likely to be seen as sexual sluts with no morals at all… because of the ‘label’.
So to our way of thinking if there is one place where sexual labels can be debated and qualified in an intelligent and informed way this should be the place to do it. |

Now that's more like it lol but we have to beg to differ - we've met loads of 'tarts' a lot of 'total tarts' (in fact Ju fits strqight into this category) and a few total sluts lol - these seem to be the ones who throw themselves into the action, whatever it is - and 'go for it' 1000% with an eagerness and willingness above the norm lol, rather than an emotional detachment - They all seem to be completely bisexual too
We both love these ladies to bits!
Maybe same words mean different things to different folks?

Of course they do, is that not the reason, at least in part for your post?
Just imagine how difficult it might be to create a profile without labels! In fact your interpretation of the term ‘slut’ suites us two but where there might be a tenancy to suggest a less reserved bisexual persona H is less abandoned with bi sex than I so it still needs to be qualified.
Another favourite term or label to be misconstrued is ‘pain’. We often receive messages with the line ‘not into pain’ and our response to that is always the same, ‘We don’t think anyone is into pain, its just that something that is a pleasurable stimulation for one might be considered pain to someone else.
For the sake of discussion… we have water-sport ticked on our enjoy list. Its NOT a must have and we enjoy it the way ‘we’ like to enjoy it within our limits. We had messages from water-sporters who enjoy w/s activities that quite simply turned us right off!
Labels are an absolute minefield of misconceptions… “The usual no no’s” what the hell does that mean? Or “Like-minded”.
We must have labels else this site wouldn’t have a ‘what type of site it is’ and therefore none of us would be here |

"I don't mind being labelled..........I am Mrs Rugby and I am a slut in bed......there, I said it "
Yes but... are you more of a slut in bed or less of a slut in bed than my H for example? Only one way to find out..

Dictionary definitions appear to say that both words have the same meanings, ie. women with loose morals, prostitutes, promiscuous, with the exception that sluts are also slovens...... I prefer to think of them as just terms of affection when used here and would class myself as a slutty tart without the slovenliness or exchange of money!

It has a label called " messy sods" and one which Mr C would die if I suggested he played it as he has OCD tendencies !! I can imagine him looking at the food and getting rubber gloves out to clean it up ! |

Some years ago a good friend and myself spent many an evening in local nightspots intent on getting laid (the joys of youth!)- we were both dismayed to often hear some girls referred to as tarts or slags, funnily enough by guys we knew who were doing exactly the same as us. It appeared then it was ok for us guy's to notch up the scores and then frowned upon by our competitors if women did the same.
Hopefully and knowingly to a degree things have moved on somewhat, if a woman chooses to dress provocatively these days fine and good, it does not give anyone the right to assume she is a tart, if a woman chooses a lifestyle of high sexual activity so be it, I would'nt look on her as a slag just a woman with a liberated view on sex. Perhaps these words are dated and not so prolific as they were some years ago? Just a thought. |

"Sluts do it for the fun of it.
Tarts do it for the money.
"
I'm for ever being called a tart... someone must be secretly keeping the cash if thats the case! lol
i'm not really sure what the difference its.. but i think tart is a word that is used in a different context to what it used to be... both males and females can be cause it. .buy having a over flirtatious behaviour, or just someone who is being freindly with everyone.
i think "slut" is a word that has a time and place.. not really one of those words i'd use to discribe someone, but each to there own |

We always thought a slut was a dirty, scruffy woman and nothing to do with sexual appetite.
Its always seemed a derogatory term to us,along with slag.
As for a tart,we see that as a woman who knows how to enjoy herself and isn't afraid to do it or admit it.

Not sure about slut being a derogatory - we've seen single female profiles who describe themselves as 'like being a sub slut'
or on another one's posted feedback, '(she) has the body of a sex-goddess and the mind of a total slut...'
Neither of these ladies are being derogatory about themselves are they? We think it's just good advertising lol we met both these two above - one is a very good friend now and the other we just can't wait to meet again!
Not seen one describe herself yet as a slag though...

There, that seems like a good definition to me! Hover over the high lighted words for definitions of those!
(but all it has done is confirm my suspicions! ) |

so right .. we are all sluts.. tarts or slappers.. WE LOVE SEX! If anyone really is serious about definitions I suggest 'wikipedia' as a suitable website .. here, let's just all take our clothes off and get stuck in! |

this one suits me! The only thing I refuse to be called is a whore or a bitch. What's key though is the respect attached, call me a slut in the bedroom, but don't even think about calling me it on the street! |

Surely a tart has no self respect, loose morals, and sleeps with people because she can. A slut sleeps with people because they really enjoy and are doing it for the pleasure they bring to themselves? Just our understanding.. |
