We....or should I say...Sam gets loads so no time to trawl through them all....we only respond to messages now and have turned off notifications of winks. |

I keep getting winks off the same profile. I've had about 5 in the last few weeks from her. But her profile is hidden?
She's probably waiting for me to message her but I BLOODY CAN'T BECAUSE YOUR PROFILE IS HIDDEN FOR CHRIST SAKE

Sometimes people wink, you wink back or message then get nothing but to be fair, I've winked a few times by mistake whilst on my phone! I had one guy wink about a dozen times, delete his profile then reappear weeks later and message me. We got on well, offered to meet him then nothing, he must of had something in his eye lol |

I'd use this analogy. To wink is akin to smiling at someone in a club, or wherever, prior to starting a conversation. If the smile is reciprocated, it's easier to make conversation than if it isn't. Or you may decide not to, if the smile isn't returned.
Either way, I think it's harmless. |

I use winks a lot but get very few responses, I view it as above, like a smile and eye contact from cross the room, a wink ( smile ) back breaks the ice and let the conversation begin. |

I think winks are great sometimes you can spend far too long writing a message for it to be deleted so a cheeky wink to show interest with the hope of a mail xx |

Can't see there's any harm in them! Sometimes I'll send a wink as the first step to seeing if they might be interested. If they wink back then it gives you extra confidence to approach a woman. If they don't, then I'll message when I know they're online. Don't want a long, hopefully well thought out message getting buried and never looked at. So sometimes I'll wink if the woman is offline or simply if I'm struggling to know exactly what to say to them at that moment. So where's the harm? Just wish women would send them more readily themselves! Lol |

I don't mind winks and often send them...think my last few meets were initially from a wink I sent. It's a way of bringing your profile to someone's attention...if they like they'll ink back/message if they don't then you've not lost anything.
I don't delete my winks though cos it stops a new one being sent for 30 days as there are a few who seem to want to wink daily when there is just no interest in return unfortunately |

A wink-specific if I may....
Do winks appear in chronological order in yer wink page?
Ie is the one on the top of the list the latest?
There is a feature to click on the 'Winkers' profile to see when it was sent but I don't like doing that coz then they see you have looked at their profile and may get the impression you are interested lol....
I know...strange eh |

I would have thought that single women and couples would prefer a wink to receiving 100s of messages from single guys. As a lot of the people above have said it shows that you are interested. If they are then a wink back or a message saying hi shows that they are interested as well.
That's my thoughts anyway... But it may be why I've only had 2 meets... Lol x |

Im a fairly uncomplicated person, I dont need someone yo send me a clever message to say that they are interested when a wink is a perfect way of breaking the ice - hint, hint

A wink to me is just too say . I have looked at your profile and I liked what o saw . Whether that be your pics or your profile text . Does not mean they want to meet or even chat . Just showing there appreciation for something they liked |

There is absolutely nothing wrong with winks! It's just a quick and simple way of saying "I've had a look at your profile, like what I have read and appreciate your piccys, could you do the same with mine and if you like wink me back"
There is no harm in a wink and they are certainly not an insult in any way.
If you get lots of them and can't respond to them all, oh well, no harm done.
We can't understand the negative reaction some people on here have to such a simple, yet sometimes very effective thing!

I'll drop a wink to a lad sometimes if I like their profile, just to see if it's reciprocated. No reply = no interest. I find couples often wink for the same reason. It's fine, it's just another tool to use. |

(m) We've started winking instead of bothering to write a message. Why spend the TIME & EFFORT writing a message when no one bothers to reply. We've got totally fucked off with writing messages to people. Is everyone on here ignorant or is it just the people we have written to so far? |

I've had a few after I've fabbed some pics which I prefer to a message as I often fab pics because I like them, not necessarily because I want to meet. They mean so many different things to different users but I like them on the whole. |
