Pressure Meets

Around twenty minutes ago(15.20), I was offered ameeting at my place at six this evening.

I'd never been contacted by the couple before. Sounded interesting. and I'd have attempted to tidy my flat for the meeting.

But I asked for a Friend's Invite first so that I could see who I was meeting.

This seemed to ffend the "couple" and I received no reply. Their Profile has blocked me from seeing it.

Hardly any words were exchanged.

This isn't the first time I've encountered these short-notice, high pressure "offers".

Thankfully was ;lost and nothing gained. But I have no intention of ever being "browbeaten" into a so-called meting with anyone who applies any unnecessary pressures.

Has anyone else experienced this?

right this is not meant offensively but do you let people bully you into doin things you dont want to do in real life??

and are you really stupid enough to accept an offer from complete strangers that you have never seen to come to your home, they could be housebreakers or anythin and you have just gave them your address???

I certainly don't let anyone bully me, especially into giving out oersonal details. Nor should anyone else.

The purpose of my Post is to alert others about this type of behaviour. It is not the only time this has happened to me and I feel it must be happening to others.

The difficulty will always be that everyone is a stranger until you meet them. Since the basic requirements to establish any trust were not met, I wouldn't allow them that information.

Why do you think that it is only women who are abused on this site?

I find it strange that someone would offer to meet me at MY house in the first message without ever knowing about them let alone meeting them!

No acceptance ever occured.

But a refusal to concede to sending a Friend's Invite made clear they were not attempting to establish any trust.

You are right. They could have been anyone.

Their unwillingness to behave civilly following by blocking me from their profile shows very bad faith at the very least!

Quite right!

Nothing gained! Nothing lost!

It's just happened in the last hour.

Gawd! I've still got to tidy the flat!

Quite strange reading on this as I was blocked by a couple about 15 mins ago, this does happen. I cant think why as everything was a clean reply

It happens, and very frustrating it is.

I give up wondering why

I just feel I am better than them !

I think people tend to block people they are just not interested in, its happened to me a few times, it is annoying and a bit rude after the first message but just part of life on here

But hold a seemingly civilised conversation -then block!?

Especially when it seems the conversation hasn't ended!?

I agree, it shows bad manners on there part and is very frustrating, they were probably just time wasters anyway

the cynic in me is thinkin it was maybe a guy masqueradin as a couple?? any verifications or that??

Timewasters? Possibly.

But my reason for raising this is it may be something more serious. Already others have pointed out the risk may be burglars. Other reasons may be blackmail or something else.

It didn't feel right at the time.

This must have happened to others.

How do you know it offended them if they didn't reply?

You didn't get very far in mails by the looks of it as they blocked you, so how can asking to meet you tonight be pressure?

You really think people need to be alerted most people with an ounce of sense would say no to a invite for a meet within three hours from someone they had never spoken to before

Im so glad my house is always neat and tidy so i never have to rush round before any of my meets

No way would i be pressured into meeting anyone, been there before and the guy decided to invite a friend that he reckoned was a genuine fit guy, yet id not even had a first meet

Move on there's plenty on here to meet and they wont pressure you
