It came to my attention that a lot of people on this website(singles and couples)don't even know what swinging is. For example, I saw a single guy's profile saying "Not swinging at the moment" WTF? seriously? Do yourself a favour and google a bit. Same for couples that say: "new in this swinging business" and then they're not looking to meet other couples. People, you are looking for a menage, not swinging! Those who call swingers party aswell and when you go there there's a lot os singles.. there's a name for that...Orgy!I'm not saying I'm against it, I do enjoy menages and Orgies but let's call things by the right names people. Educate yourselves. I'm being a little picky I now but I'm sapiosexual and I think it's a bit disrespectful for the REAL swingers.  Peace! |

By reading their profiles, they called themselves swingers, I know "pendant" and I agree.

wow you didn't get my point, What is Swinging? same as meeting? of course not. So how can a single guy say not swinging at the moment? How can he even swing? he can't. Swing is between couples.
I don't have a problem with that, just saying people are using swing to describe everything they do. |

yes but you do meet couples.. so swingers. I'm not saying if you meet a single you are not, just saying there's people calling themselves swingers when all they do is meet singles em they don't even want to meet couples. |

But there is, swing is swap of partners.. if a single guys joins you, how can it be swing, your husband is swapping with the guy but how are you swapping with?. Again, not saying is a bad thing, not against it. But for me there is a difference. What you do is threesomes. |

I would say its because you are a bit anal retentive as I dont think its a trait of a sapiosexual. I think everyone know what the word swinging means in the classical sense but it seems to be more of a catch all term for what others would say is sexually deviant. Words take on different meaning over time. If you were really that passionate about the issue you wouldn't have joined a swinging site since you have no partner to "swing" with. Would fab alternative lifestyle be a more accurate name for the site? I don't think it's as catchy really |

I'm not here to lay any laws down or make offence, but to share my interpretation.
I feel the term 'Swinging' refers to the actual sexual lifestyle not the sole practice of partner swapping as known in the past few centuries. It's a very subjective matter but one that isn't important as long as everybody is safe doing what they enjoy. - Mr. B. |

I've said it before and I will say it again. Singles can be part of the swinging community. It is a lifestyle. An attitude. Dividing up the community into sub groups serves no purpose whatsoever. Swingers have threesomes, foursomes and moresomes. So if two couples meet with a single guy or lady that is not swinging?? Looks and feels like it for me! I've been part of the community for over 20 years (when the OP was in nappies), as a single and with partners. I am no less a part of the community without a partner. |

I don't consider myself swinging when I see single men as a single, its serial "dating" . When I go to clubs with my male friend we have sex with singles, other couples etc, usually in a group. That's swinging

I know there is a debate going on about who is entitled to use the term 'swinger' to describe themselves. Firstly, as someone above stated, words change, meanings change, and plugging 'swinger' into any online dictionary does state that its an alternative phrase for wife-swapping, which denotes couples only, but its secondary definition describes swingers as 'people' who engage in NSA fun. People, not couples. Could it be that the term 'swinger' is changing to include people not in couples?
Secondly,, people who care too much about this sort of thing should seriously get a life. If your main criteria for meeting involves making sure they agree with you as to what a word means then you're going to come across as a bit odd. I use the word 'swinging' to describe what I do as other ways to describe it sound weird. And for anyone who says 'oh, but you are a woman', whats the difference between me and a single man (apart from the obvious of course!)

I think the original idea when this site was created was for it to be a swinging site. I certainly don't get that impression now. There are swingers, but also people just looking for a shag. There's nothing wrong with that!! |

Real swingers as it were , appear to have this hidden set of rules that they don't really know what they are and are un happy to share them.
Surely swinging is a personal choice and you do what your personal choice desires
Eg if you like to watch - then watch
If you like 3 somes - then have a 3 some
If you want a break then have a break.
Surely this is the only rule to swinging or have we got it totally wrong? |
