well looks like we are going to be stood up for the second consecutive week end ! why is this site full of tossers who seem to take great pleasure in frigging genuine couples about ???? can anyone out there prove us wrong ???  |

there are genuine people out there... and the site is not full of tossers... something like that is too much of a kop out....
but if you are encountering "timewaster" (I hate that word because peoples defination of that is different... and if someone cancels 24hrs before a meet that not timewasting for me) on a regular basis then at some point you have to take some form of responsibilty... and that has to start with your selection process.... |

we have been disappointed if someone has cancelled but never so late that its been a let down as such , and we never had a time waster as such, guess we have been lucky or chose well, we dont let it bother us as we always have our own fun, is another reason why we try and meet at home, |

That's completely out of order (assuming they didn't have a real disaster) BUT it's only an indication of that person(s) make up and its not indicative of of any greater part of the site. Such things are going to happen occasionally but it shouldn't colour your opinion of others.

It must be horrible to be let down twice in a row like that but you can't say the site is full of tossers and dreamers with a sample of two. Also how can any of us prove you wrong?
I don't know how you go about preventing this happening but we find that if people stop messaging or replying before a meet they aren't going to go through with it. |

There is a very, very simple reason why some people are seemingly plagued by timewasters and fakes and many others aren't. But for some it's easier to blame others than take a slightly more introspective look at things |

Never encountered either yet.
But then as we are real meet in person only, we avoid chat, ignore cam veri's, newbies, unverifieds and not recently verified.
Club met in persons are good, we can just arrange to meet at a club.
Also other things, like single male but cant accommodate, (Not that it means they are all married, but 65-80%)
Hundreds of pics, again we are real life only, not interested in being the center of internet attention, dont need our online ego's stroking.
Run their user name through a forum search, see if they have posted, and you can see a lot of opinions from posts.
Check those that verified them, do they seem genuine?
Work on your selection process,
Early phone chat female to female if the couple seem overly perfect, but listen to your instincts and not your sex drive.

I've been let down 3 times in nearly 4 years on my single profile. 2 were socials and one was a hotel meet which I'd paid for so was not best pleased. On that occasion, it was my first ever meet so you could say maybe I was a little naive but I couldn't have done more to satisfy myself he was genuine. Had his e mail with full name, chatted on the phone the day before and even got my cousin's other half who was a copper to check him out. He gave me no reason to think he wouldn't show and I pretty much did everything I could have to satisfy myself he was genuine but at the end of the day you can just never be sure. Sorry this happened OP, I know exactly how it feels. Better luck next time

I had his name from his e mail as at the time I didn't have a camera phone to swap pics with. I wanted to tell someone what I was doing and confided in my cousin who's wife suggested she'd check him out for my peace of mind. |

there are a lot of people who do foresake basically common sense in pursuit of getting their leg over and it is something that we do hear a lot...
not saying the op doesn't... but you do hear things like not talking to a couple on the phone!" or not having a phone number or an address, or not calling before leaving...
the more checks and balances you have, the less likely you are to be caught out....
basic common sense, a healthy dose of cynicism, and being 110% comfortable before even thinking about meeting....

A single guy let us down the week we joined. About 8pm sat night too. Wasn't happy as wasn't in mood for going out then,or looking for someone else as time was getting on. so went shop for drinks.

There are a lot, whether you can say most is another matter and it partly depends on category. With the GB scene there are lots of guys who just don't show, one of the reasons I've been losing interest in hosting them, (I must say there are other personal ones too).
Couples who mess around and can't decide on what they're doing do occur and seem to bottle out at the last minute, the ones with verifications aren't as bad so I must say I've learned to be more cautious with those who haven't got them.
Single women, hit and miss, again messing around and being unable to make up their minds about what they're doing, verifications help but still not 100%. TGirls probably more there, but that could be down to individual personalities.
I work most of my life in various forms of sales, marketing and promotion, if you really do not want my product / service I'd rather you said so fairly early on. I go with that philosophy in my 'normal' life, (which includes swinging). Should I, shouldn't I does annoy me, shit or get off the pot.
As for cancellations, I know that non swinging stuff happens, I think you get a feel for genuine reasons and the 'dog ate my homework ones.' As I said I think the biggest problem is with single guys who bottle out.
Personally I think it's probably time for me to re evaluate my wants and therefore my profile on here. Although I think I'll always enjoy group fun, I think I've got bored with GBs. |

Actually I can understand why a single woman would be happier with a PNC being done. Depending on the way the meeting was being organised, location etc I wouldn't mind it being done on me. I know the police aren't supposed to do lots of things, however sometimes it's useful when they do. |

If a woman feels that insecure about meeting someone, maybe she should give this site a very wide body swerve! In fact, if anyone feels they would be happier with a PNC check being done before hey meet for a drink, they really shouldn't be on here!
What if the PNC check was done and it all came up ok and they were still stood up? Should they then contact the police and get the to open a file on the person with 'timewaster' on it? |

I think the police have got much better things to do with their time . If people are that concerned they should meet in clubs where there are a lot of other people around or not meet at all. Sometimes I've been surprised at the trust women have put in me a complete stranger being in a position to take very extreme forms of control of them in some scenarios. If so every man in every nightclub in Britain would have to be checked every weekend and what about the men who meet other men under very dodgy circumstances, and the women who walk home down unlit streets. If I found out that an officer had done a PNC check on me with no legal basis and most definately if it was done before a date/meet, I would expect them to be dismissed. End of. It's a massive abuse of power.
That said as every PNC enquiry leaves a footprint, I part suspect the claim it happened is bullshit. |

If I found out that an officer had done a PNC check on me with no legal basis and most definately if it was done before a date/meet, I would expect them to be dismissed. End of. It's a massive abuse of power.
That said as every PNC enquiry leaves a footprint, I part suspect the claim it happened is bullshit."
