I think most people in here are looking to actually meet not just message so why do people send messages who are so far away?
Just in the last hour I have had Wales to Scotland, if I was looking for a meet I would be looking locally.... Can anyone explain to me.
It is in my profile where I am ( north Herts), I know they are rarely read but it does confuse me. |

It's not an isolated thing, we regularly get random winks, friend invites and messages from people 100's of miles away. We're happy to travel yes, but there's limits.
No problem meeting halfway etc or if we're in the area anyway or we're very interested in the person/s  |

"Fair enough, I didn't realise people travelled that far. I would not like someone to travel that far to see me as I always like a social first and would feel pressure for more I think."
I prefer to meet local guys as I have in the past felt obligated to play with guys because they have travelled a long way, but if they really insist then its upto them if they want to travel a long way to meet me, I always make it 100% clear though nothing is guaranteed so they could be driving 2 hours just for a drink, then its upto them |

Hand on heart. And i'm just going to say it Everyone that i fancy the pants off and who i'd love to get my lips on are too far from me (don't know if they realised that i do). No one from London or close by has tickled my fancy and done things to me like those who are up North, in the Midlands or elsewhere.
But, i have to be realistic - no matter how genuine i may be; they'd all think i'm having a laugh.
So, i'm used to a lack of meets now. I'm looking for quality and that's where i think it is for me. Can't do anything about that...but, once i get rid of this illness. I need to have some fun and i'm going on the pull!

Some guys say they're willing to travel to me so I say sure, let me know when you're on your way, and I never hear from them again. Seems a bit pointless to me. |

I really enjoy travelling for meets. For me it's all part of the fun and excitement. I wouldn't often go as far as Newcastle or Plymouth but having said that I wouldn't rule it out in all cases. As I live in London but regularly spend time in Norfolk and work in Thames Valley area, these places are always options but so are places like Birmingham and Portsmouth for example. Not too far for me.
If I'm the one travelling and I'm happy to do so there's no reason why I shouldn't. Getting replies is hard enough for single guys let alone meeting people and narrowing your criteria right down. |

I actually prefer to meet guys working in my area, its handy as I don't accommodate so they have a room, plus if we meet and don't get along I don't feel like its a waste of room as they would be in it anyway

Our profile says Moffat as we need to put somewhere and we have our main home there.but work takes us all over UK.we are currently in Cornwall.Wednesday we will be in Warrington.so maybe you are only assuming they are miles away. |

Several months ago I wrote in the forums how surprised I was that people would make a round trip of hundreds of miles "for a shag", as I put it.
Well I've since done a 180° turn on those thoughts. If weeks of communication, including verbal, has taken place before the journey then you should pretty much know what you're letting yourself in for.
Still wouldn't travel a great distance for less than a two night stay though |

Yes. I wouldn't see distance as a barrier to meeting. It's easy for me to make it a weekend away in London or Manchester. I do understand though people who have kids getting messages looking to meet from someone who do not travel. That's where reading the full profile comes in handy. J x |

I sometimes have to stay kings Lynn way to drop off my daughter for her contact with ex, usually a night or two. V boring alone, u guys saying I couldn't sort a meet in those circumstances?
Also I prefer not to meet too local as it's a very small town where everyone knows everyone n I have relatives here too. |

Same here as I was chatting to a guy in Scotland, when he said he would come down and meet me whilst he was off for a week, I reminded him that it was a social therefore 12 hrs out of his day for a coffee, needless to say, the 10 hrs on the road changed his mind |

I met someone off here we spoke got on well and we became good friends im from leeds she was in southend I drove a 500 mile round trip in a day to meet her and seen her after that too so I don't really see distance a issue |

On my singles profile I have a 30 mile radius and still get messages from afar even America.
As for long distance meets thats how I met the lovely Jet 250 miles between us. It's hard sometimes but it works for us. If I am going to just have the one night with him and others I will meet him in West Brom, any more than one night then I will go to Liverpool or he will come to Essex. |

Guy contacted me from 200 miles away, seemed a ridiculous distance but we so fancy one another he drives up here to see me. I guess sometimes people message you because they might be willing to travel for the right peeps |
