I'm a big fan of Guillermo Del Torro but I didn't like The Devil's Backbone. His best is Pan's Labyrinth.
To the OP I'd suggest "The Others" with Nicole Kidman. Really good supernatural film. |

This film has some good 'BOO!' moments and made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end too.
There's another one from years ago about a WWII US bomber crew stranded in the desert. That was a tear jerker in the end but I can't remmebr the name of that film  |
