It's died down to maybe 20 new contacts a day, it was more. The fact is that most women/couples get so many emails that they have no need to email anybody. I rarely make the first move on anybody. Not because I'm too stuck up, i just always have emails to reply to.

44 so far today. Yes, I'm amazed as well. They are a fair mix of ongoing conversations with some lovely people, some from strangers who are nice, some a bit optimistic from far corners of the realm, some on the back of stuff in the forum (always welcome) and 2 are they real.

On a usual day over 100, if new pic has been put on, or meet flag up, or i put new verification up, considerably alot more, can go into 200-300. Also depends on the day, Friday is usually the quietest where as sunday seems everyone is mega horny.

We get a few winks and friend adds but very few messages really....our messages are mainly from people we know and have met. We get a burst of messages if we post pics but otherwise our inbox is fairly quiet.

If you want 'unsolicited' messages from people on here who don't know you from Adam, then you either have to have a very enticing shop window e.g profile and pics or by generating interest from your forum posts / chat participation.

With so many members to choose from, you only get out from the effort you put in.

You can't appeal to everyone, but you can use the site tools and facilities to help and be yourself.

As a bloke, well, this is a networking site.

The more network connections you have, the more likely you will be seen:

On friends Lists

On veri's

On Forums

On Chat

Maximise it and you will be seen. Then it gets to the point where you don't have to work too hard.

Pictures... how many pictures do you see a guy not dressed nice and in a messy room? C'mon! Get it straight and looking nice, put some nice clothes on (Ahem...), smile a bit (Ahem..) and make some effort in your profile to make it look like you'll make some effort with them. Go look at successful profiles and blatantly steal their style.

Filters being the key word. Those that claim 100's per day usually don't use them. I didn't when I first joined and had 165 one night (I got notification to my hotmail, not that I counted them)

Now only verified single men between 34 and 44 can message me so it's reduced to a few a day. I'm not meeting at the moment either but I still get the mail from the one who's going to persuade me otherwise

Yeh, it took me a few days to find the message filters. I still get a ton of new people messaging me each day. If only there was a distance filter, that would reduce messages a lot

Yeh, it took me a few days to find the message filters. I still get a ton of new people messaging me each day. If only there was a distance filter, that would reduce messages a lot

oh a distance filter would be great! Then I wouldn't have to explain where Aberaeron is and that it really is 5/6/7 hours away

We used to get 70 plus per day - mostly from guys who met absolutely none of the requirements politely explained on our profile. Many were quite rude when we declined their offer!!

A much more blunt profile plus mass blocking of those who completely ignored it has reduced it to manageable proportions.

We were getting messages from Turkey, Middle East, Nigeria, USA & the length & breadth of the UK from guys passing thru.

Various drafts (becoming ever more forceful) had little effect.

In answer to your question - Yes, every day!!

I find Sundays to be quite quiet on here. Monday is my busiest day!! I get about 20 newbie contacts a day

We used to get loads, but as we both bi, not looking for single guys, the filters have reduced to a few messages per week. If we go on cam, we can get up to 50 private messages per minute if we forget to block the pm service!
