I really want to go on holiday abroad soon as it's been ages since the last one but don't have any idea where, as I will be going alone.
Anyone got any recommendations?
Also offer is there if anyone wants to tag along. |

Pick a destination and go. That's all I do, and I usually travel alone.
There are some travel companies that specialise in solo travelers, but I just use normal travel companies and make friends as I go.

Iv found Tenerife is a good place to go, I go at least two times a year with my bro and we always meet loads of different kind of people from all walks of life! There's a few people who go by their self too. |

I went on my first solo holiday in 2012 and enjoyed every second. I decided to use a travel company that provided a tour manager, guided tours etc and chose Travelsphere.
There was 14 of us and we bonded as a group. You have the flexibility to explore independently should you wish. The only "negative" for me was the waiting time at the airport, but my ipod and book took care of that.
I have a boyfriend and we're talking holidays, but as he's ruled out Africa, Asia, eastern Europe, France as he lived there for 10 years, Spain, just because and muslim countries I'll be using Travelsphere again for my holiday to wake me up from my holiday in Belgium looking at castles! |

I always holiday alone. I would not have it any other way. I don't want to make friends on holiday either so I don't feel the need to go with singles groups
I choose somewhere I would like to go, read up about it so it is not just a week sat by the pool, and go...Perhaps you might want to take up anew hobby like scuba diving or something..
I don't have to suit anyone else's needs but my own, I eat when I want to eat and where..I completely please myself.
It is bliss.....
Once you have done it I bet you will never look back.. |

I've been on my own three times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Went for a week the first time just in case I didn't like it then I just went for a fortnight both times. I went to Rhodes because I like the Greek islands and the people. I chose a small hotel away from the 18 - 30 type resorts. Go for it and enjoy. If I can do it in my 40s anyone can! |

I did it in my 50s and didn't go the singles route as I wasn't looking to hook up. There were five couples, three single ladies and a man. I was the youngest of the group and the least fit.
