On a meet I thought I would be the gent and take a bunch of flowers, from Sainsburys not the garage.
On receiving them the lady remarked that "I suppose you'll be expecting me to spend the rest of the day with my legs in the air. "
I replied, "Have you no got a vase."
The truth is, I like giving a lady flowers, but is it cheesy? |

"I think it's lovely, if they are given 'just because' then that's great "
I think that's when it's best too, no real ulterior motive, just doing something nice. |

I've turned up with small gestures.
Early morning meet. Orange juice and Danish pastries. Afternoon social cuppa might turn up with a cake
Never been brought flowers. |

I got a lovely bunch of mixed roses from my neighbour for reporting the burglary last week - they bring a smile day after day, flowers are ALWAYS welcome gents, but make sure they are good quality ones!!

I think it's a lovely gesture.
Unfortunately, although I wouldn't let you know this, I dislike cut flowers, don't drink and don't eat anything sweet so I'd be a shit person to buy for.
My friends hate it! |

I've had flowers, also pastries and home made puddings, hand made chocolate covered strawberries ... I've also had several really nice bottles of wine in my time ... it does say a lot about a man who is thoughtful enough to make a gesture ... however small ... and you can tell the ones who are only doing it to get into your knickers ... it's like buying dinner ... I'm not being bought no matter what's on offer !!! |

"You all deserve some lovely flowers, what are your favourites, I actually think a mixed bouquet with carnations, and iris look nice."
Meh, carnations are a bit naff I think..... tight bunches of single flowers are far more classy - tulips, roses, stocks, fresias, anything with a nice fragrance particularly. Go to M&S or Waitrose or a florist for quality!!

True but I think they smell nice and last long. Stocks and fresias, I do like. |

I'm sure you'll enjoy them all the same.
Whenever I buy flowers the people selling them always ask who's the lucky lady and such.
I bet you didn't say what inspired your buy. Lol
