There's certain professions who wouldn't wish to advertise their interests, because without doubt they'd face more interest and comments than others.

Back of Beyond

I guess this is where the 'professional couple' comes into play.

Nothing to do with them being teachers, its all to do with preserving their incomes.

Teachers, like social workers, nurses etc are bound by a professional ethics, codes of practice and registration. Nowadays many employers have in their contract words such as "no private interest shall bring disrepute on the profession"

Sadly swinging falls into this category (don't ask how I know!) and can and will be used at a disciplinary by the professional body to remove your registration.

Without registration you cannot practice as a teacher nurse social worker or many other such roles. This is an indictment of the narrow minded views of employers nowadays and nothing will change that, no matter how much the authorities say they are liberal minded.

If Bodie & Doyle were swingers, would people have an issue with them putting professional on their profile? Or would that be pompous of them ? Just wondered?

Hmmmmmmmmmm. I've taken some sound advice on this matter and can offer the following.

Bodie and Doyle wouldn't put professional on their profile.

They would put 'The Professionals' as it is clearly the title of their gang of two and not indicative of whether they are continuously developing in their registered career.

If they were claiming to be teachers as well as one of 'The Professionals' they could say they were The professional Professionals!

Are sexy , black clad , gun toting, car leaping, rule twisting detectives really professional ?

Personally I wouldn't advertise my profession on here. By that I mean telling people at the first opportunity etc. I'd have to inherently trust someone before I told them. Just my £0.02

Its not wise to say if you are or not, John worked with problem teenagers for social services until he ended up in the News of the World & Daily Mail.

He was sacked & told he would not be suitable to work with children & elderly anymore, a friend of ours lost her job recently after someone said she was on a adult site & she taught adults doing evening courses.

Have the odd conversations when you meet people but avoid the forums.

This happened to us, luckily John enjoys working as a photographer/producer now days, he was told he would never work for social services again when they found out about us in 2000.

Also another reason we don't put our selves down as professionals as it attracts more attention then you need, the least people know about you job wise the better.

"I mean Teachers of Swing .....

does make you think about what Mr Knoppfler was really referring to... "

You get a shiver in the class,

It's raining on the grass, but meantime:

South of the dinner hall , you stop and you hold everything.

A whistle’s blowin' tables, double-four time.

You feel alright when you hear the nine times ten.

You step inside, but you don't see too many faces.

Comin' in out of the rain to hear the sums go down.

Competition in other places...

But the whistles, they blowin' that sound.

Way on down corridors,

Way on down corridors, London-town

Check out Guitar George, he knows all the chords.

But it's strictly tables; he doesn't want to make it add.

If any old guitar is all he can afford,

When he gets up under the lights to play like mad.

And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't pass the test.

He's got a weekend job, he's doing alright.

He can play the twelve times twelve like anything,

Savin' it up for Friday night.

With the Teachers,

With the Teachers of Swing

And a crowd of young boys, they're fooling around in the toilets,

D*unk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their converse pumps.

The don't give a damn about any G.C.S.E.

It ain't what they call rock and roll.

And the Teachers,

Yes the Teachers wear corduroy patches.

And then the head, he steps right up to the microphone.

And says at last, just as the time bell rings,

"Goodnight, now it's time to go home."

And he makes it fast, with one more thing:

"We're the Teachers,

"We are the Teachers of Swing."

I met the most stunning girl I've ever laid my swinging eyes on a couple of years ago at Adam & Eves. She was only about 25 and was very open about being a primary school teacher. She had lots of piercings on her flower and was a delight, but haven't seen her since.

So they do exist. I wish my sons teacher was a swinger lol. Bloody gorgeous she is

Both G and myself are teachers (him primary me secondary). It's always a great line to drop in a conversation because the replies range from "that's so hot" to "how could you swing, ew".

But everybody has their own lives. When out clubbing we has met police officers, teachers, bank workers, even somebody who cleaned for a local celeb. None of it matters, it's all about the person! C x

Oh and yeah, it's why we don't say on our profile what we do, and also why we don't display face pics in public. It may be hot to a lot of people to scream it from the roof tops, but it's not worth our careers. C x
