Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I visit Bristol regularly and have no problem meeting people when I am there. However I did once say on Fab that if I moved to Bristol I bet all the meets would suddenly dry up. I think people don't like meeting people who are too nearby.

Yeh I can see the problem with meeting people nearby. But even allowing for folks who are worried about seeing people they know, its still feels like low numbers.

Although we do appreciate that our options are limited slightly as we only meet ladies or couples.

If you think you're having problems in Bristol, think what it's like for me right on the west coast of Wales I'm an hour and 45 mins from Swansea!

Not really two of the local clubs closed due to lack of support last year... Far better idea would be to start a theme night at one of the existing venues.

I'd still argue the area could do with a good club.

The fact two closed doesn't indicate that there's no support - just that club set up and location is hugely important. A well planned, well laid out and well run club will be in high demand given Bristol's location. Those clubs possibly weren't what people were looking for - and having heard feedback (assuming I'm thinking of the right venues) there were big issues with location in particular.

South West

We thought it was just the rule of swinging that the people you like are always 150 miles away. That said for the population number Bristol does seem very quiet. Maybe like us they just gave up and travel for meets and make a weekend of it?

Have to say we think Bristol is absolutely screaming out for a well run , decent club !!

Whilst we really enjoy travelling to other clubs and the buzz that goes with visiting somewhere new, a local club would be very welcome

A themed night at an existing club is a potential idea too

You already have a well equipped club that really just needs support and guidance. Whether it may already be too late is debatable.

Pfffft! I dream of being 1:45 hrs away from a decently populated area!

North Bristol

We always found Bristol sparse for meets - even single men believe it or not . I think we only ever had 2 meets actually in Bristol but neither was from Bristol

To be fair, this site isn't used for it's intention any more. 7+ years ago, swinging sites were only frequented by swingers. Now they're full of any Tom, Dick or Harry just looking for a quick shag with no idea about the lifestyle. Back then, it wasn't difficult to get a meet.

At the moment, I don't know whether we will ever meet again (sounds like a bad song lol) but if we do, I hope it's picked up by then.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Not sure which clubs were shut down because of low patronage but I do recall that one had serious structural problems (the roof fell in!) and the landlord wasn`t prepared to repair it, the other one I`m thinking of (in Bath) was taken back by the landlord for their own use. I don`t think either had major issues with lack of patronage.

we go to the Office from Devon, Friday tends to be busier than Sats, went last Friday and there was around 7 couples and 8 single guys, the entrance is a bit off putting but once inside it is well laid out with some good rooms.

Rather than start a new club, maybe hire the office for a party night and see if you could get more people to go,

If a club is struggling to attract normal visitors why would hiring the same venue (at a cost !) tempt people to go?

it was just a suggestion, sometime new owners make a big difference, I know the current owners have had some bad write-ups on this site, if someone promoted the club a bit more maybe it could turn it around, maybe hire the club for 1 weekend a month

Its was just an idea,

I do like the club, I just don't know why it lacks people, especially with the large catchment area
