Some games to break the ice, not too much food, turn the heating off when enough people have arrived and make sure your house is easy to find. You don't want 5 people going to your neighbours asking if it is no 10 and announcing they are here for the swinging party. |

Relax. Don't worry about what may/may not happen - it probably will/won't!
Hide any breakables, put no entry signs on doors to rooms you don't want used. Buy disposable plates/glasses, tissues, wet wipes etc. - and put bins in any rooms where play may occur.
Other than that - have fun. |

We've booked an apartment in the city so don't have the worry of having it at home. Hopefully we have a good mix of people however still waiting on people getting back to us too. |

We attended our first party at the weekend, it was amazing, no games were played no real need.
spent 1-2 hours just talking with each other, then 1 of the couples decided to go upstairs to a room, after a bit another couple, then the rest kinda followed.
Keep an area for no play, as it can be a long night and sometimes people will just want to talk. ideally the living room where people can still have a seat. |

I went to my first house party on NYE it was great. Everyone was very friendly and met some great people. When talking to some of the couples they said they like just the right amount of singles there to couples.
The hosts made sure everyone was introduced properly which was good didn't feel like it was just down to you to go round doing the honours. |

Inform all confirmed guests of strict arrival times, as an example between 8 & 9.... If you leave the arrival time open to abuse you won't be able to relax! Be specific on play areas!
If you not planning on taking small bins then place carrier bags discretely in the rooms and for how much they cost buy a few packs of wipes to place in the play rooms.
Inform all guests on arrival what you done in preperation....
Hope the party is a successful one. |
