Postponing a meet for a genuine reason

I would like people's opinion on how people feel when one person cancel's/postpones a meet for a genuine reason, ie family/ work commitment with able notice?

The reason is that I have had to cancel one today due to been called into work due to the bad weather and the other person has gone mental on me.

Thanksx

If it's a genuine reason then suck it up, go have a wank and then reschedule

Life happens

That person may have been let down too many times before and you're simply the straw that broke the camel's back.

Problem is I suppose that they might think you are lying, either way if I had a meet arranged and I had to cancel because my son was ill, family emergency etc if they didn't like it, tough. I would give anyone the benefit of the doubt the first time but if it happened again I wouldn't arrange another meet.

It is frustrating if you have paid for/organised sitters etc but as _iew says real life has to come first.

While it is disappointing when someone does cancel, if it is for a genuine reason of course I would be upset but understand there are times when a person has to cancel and would be happy to try and arrange another meet

How long before the meet did you cancel?

Does she know your job could have caused this to happen?

Does she need a shoulder to cry on

It happens as life has a way of getting in the way of adult play. It has happened to me both cancelling a meet and a meet cancelled because - I hope - of personal reasons. Its the "no shows" that really piss me off.

life takes priority and if a meet has to be cancelled that's tough as long as they text to say in advance its fine I hope they would understand if I had to do so if they didn't I wouldn't EVER see them

I've had a couple of Meets cancelled by the other person but as I've already met them and know they are genuine I just find it a tad disappointing but Life / Work comes before Fab

I think the problem is there are so many time wasters on here, that when a meet is cancelled for a genuine reason, no one believes it due to past experiences.

We have given up arranging meets on here. We put a meet up now and say contact us on the day, we won't commit to anything before as half just want a chat.

With couples a lot is just the guy half contacting you and female half not got a clue.

Have heard it all, swinging must be the highest ratio of family illnesses/work problems per head, we've had pets dying, car accidents, locked out, one person said they were on the M3 southbound at Winchester, and wife was on her phone to a mate in a car on the same road and it was fine!!

Point is, too many time wasters have tarred everyone with the same brush I'm afraid.

My only advice is, considering other people may have taken time off work, scheduled things around a meet, don't commit unless you can 100% make it. That includes doing it on a day off when work can't call you in, if car is playing up, get it fixed etc etc.

X

Arranging meets with single guys is easy enough, there are so many to choose from and they apparently will travel miles for meets, although we dont ask them to.

But have to say getting couples or single females to meet is like searching for the holy Grail, does make us wonder whether they really do want to meet.

But to answer the specific question if people cancel on us we just take it on the chin arguing or abusing them is not going to make them change their mind, we think the woman is out of order for not accepting your reason, block and move on

Report anyone who is unreasonably offensive. Sometimes meets will fail, that's how it goes. If you've let others know as soon as you could, then you have done your best. If someone is financially inconvenienced, then offer recompense. I will never meet anyone who is abusive, so they spoil it for themselves.

Not to my experience - at least, not many are prepared to travel.

Perhaps I should change my aftershave.

Nor mine...perhaps we use the same aftershave

I once had to cancel a meet as youngest ended up with bad earache so ended up on medicine. The guy didn't believe me. I was very annoyed at him. Luckiky he has shown his true colours recently so blocked him.
