There was no naming and shaming on it, just a discussion about how this site sees and deals with it.
What was th problem with that? |

Because the answer was given. Block report and move on. That's how the site owners want it dealt with. They don't want and won't allow naming and shaming. |

Didn't see an "answer" from the site owners. It was an ongoing discussion. Some people don't think the report system goes far enough, others thought that it was pointless as people can just re-register.
Had the site owners taken the trouble to comment then that would be a different story. An anonymous person just deciding to shut down a thread on a whim seems like censorship. |

Its against site rules and wouldn't work. Anyone could use and abuse it if it was allowed |

it was a moderator who closed the thread, not a random anonymous person |

The last person on the thread was a moderator tasked with policing the forums asppervade instructions of the site owners who can't be online all hours of the day. They kind of have lives too.
The site owners have answered the regular subject of naming and shaming in the site faq's which everyone can read.
Ibelieve you original post was about someone being rude? I've had my fair share of rude people but once I've reported and blocked them I really couldn't give two fucks about what happens. |

I'd also hazard a guess that as the subject had been discussed many times on the gurus and the site owners and admin are very clear on the subject the forum moderator closed the thread. Random forum users cannot close threads only site nominated moderators, so I very much doubt it was done on a whim |

I quoted the advice I would have given with a thumbs up. I am not sure how much more was needed.
Admin themselves give mods instructions on what threads to shut and this subject is one of them.
If you want to query that you need to do it with Admin themselves from the CONTACT button.
I am going to shut this one now. |
