Depends how much gear he's using.
Studies I've read concluded that naturally, the average man can increase his muscle mass by around 10% - this increases to around 15% for someone with an above average build (think a strapping rugby player type), and as high as 20% for someone who's genetically gifted. |

As long as steroids are done "safely" and cycled correctly, I think you will find steroids alone are relatively safe. They are used for many medical treatments. The long term affects are different for women of course, but that's another ball game.
I think you will find smokers, drinkers & the obese have significantly more health problems and long term lasting damage! |

"I like muscles on men like Jessie Pavelka, Chris Powell. The Arnie look doesn't do it for me."
Both those guys you mentioned are good examples of naturally attainable physiques, whereas Arnies is pretty much the archetypical steroid look. |

I totally agree steroid users get a bad rep due to poor knowledge if done correct you can obtain a dry muscular physique non of this water bloat you see a lot of |

Its not the size of the arm that's important, its the strength. Mind though having said that, no one ever really cared about my log lifting pic - I think most people have forgotten WHY muscles are classically attractive in men. |

It still makes little sense to me to use steroids recreationally, if whilst you're on them your muscles are big but your balls shrink, then you come off them and your balls return to normal whilst your muscles shrink. |

I've come off and gone back on several times the only thing that ever shrinks Is my balls my muscles stay the same size throughout there's a difference between the guys that take steroids and fill full of water and the guys like myself that use steroids to compete |

I would love to compete one day, but i have a long way to go. But, that is my goal..and one day, i will get there.
...for me, i just want to see how far i can take my body. A body like Kai Greene would be perfect...but, that may be far beyond my reach.

Genetics is the entire basis of his work, some people are simply more blessed than others when it comes to building strength and muscle.
I remember an interview with a top American strongman a couple of years ago, and the interviewer asked him how big he was as a kid - he answered that when he was in the '10th grade' (so about 14 years old) he weighed 220lbs - that's almost 16 stone. Ordinary guys trying to match men like that, you might aswell be competing with bears. |

its not just men that do this... ive seen a fair few profiles where women have used athletic option when they are anything but athletic.
Same goes for clicking on average option when they are quite large. |

Yes, but if you start using steroids then you'll start building an amount of muscle onto your frame that your body was not genetically designed to carry, meaning they'll bulge out from your frame in the classic action figure fashion our generation has been brought up on and you'll look very muscular even at lower bodyweights.
How heavy are you now? |

Most gyms are full of reflextion athletes ..some strong but no flexibilty or stamina fitness is a combination of different capabilites and too much muscle can compromise attainabilty of true fitness ..see mov nat for the way forward incorporating barefoot technology and primal training ...inspirational |

I'm naturally a ectomorph but through hard work managed to get my strength through the roof breaking world/British and European powerlifting records.
I'm weighing in at 13stone at the moment but my lifetime goal would be 16-18stone |

I reckon you're gonna be putting some serious pressure on your heart, liver and kidneys if you're attempting to almost double your starting bodyweight through steroid use. |

There's always going to be certain side effects to using things that aren't natural.
I'm a mesomorph, so packing on the pounds is quite easy. But sometimes, it's just the diet that ruins everything for me.
..I guess that is the challege.

I guarantee drinking and smoking causes more damage then steroid use |

I can appreciate sleek muscular definition. The bulk build to where there's no neck left, upper limbs are unable to touch the trunk, lower limbs carry the man like he's just learning to walk AND wearing a soiled diaper is quite the eyesore for me.
And, I have no idea if this is an individual thing or caused by steroid usage: have talked to a few guys at the gym-do steroids cause an inability to speak properly? A few sound either congested or as if their tongues are swollen. It IS a little disturbing.. |

Steroid use can cause an expansion of the jaw, that might explain why a users speech can sound rather laboured. |

I've never understood the desire to bulk up and develop huge muscles. It looks artificial, even without steroids. I think it's a form of body dysmorphia, in a lot of cases. |

"I've never understood the desire to bulk up and develop huge muscles. It looks artificial, even without steroids."
Pretty much no one can develop 'huge' muscles, at least not disproportionately so, to their frames without steroids, the body has natural limits, and these are much lower than most weightlifting newcomers would be lead to believe. |
