When he goes to sign on, tell him to pretend he doesn't speak or read and write english. They will do everything for him and make sure he gets every possible benefit. I spoke to them in a Lancashire accent and got no advice or help whatsoever, just a condescending luck. It won't be forever, just don't use the jobcentre websites for job searching, they are worse than useless.
