Does age Matter?

Looking at all the ads by ladies on here it seems that being past 40 is too old and being 50 or over is ready for the coffin.

Now I have just got back from a dance weekend where I couldn't fail to notice that I was slimmer and fitter than most of the younger guys there.

I have also done a few Triathlons and work out at the Gym fairly regularly and I am surrounded by very unfit guys in their 20s.

Surely a Lady would rather be with a fit guy regardless of age rather than a young unfit one?

I use age as a filter on here.

I dont meet with youngens so I'm not your target audience, but because of sheer numbers, tough choices have to be made.

I rarely feel excluded because of my age, and am delighted by the number of ladies on Fab who appear to prefer the maturer man

It shouldn't but it does...

It's the person I see not their age..,

People like what they like if someone or a specific age group attracts them and others not I don't see a problem with it. If you are outside someone's age choice then its unreasonable to expect them to change their preferences. Yes you can be fitter than some but who's to say they would select the unfit one in the age group and its not just about fitness its looks and age related interests too that come into account.

I'm the opposite lol I won't meet younger guys and prefer men aged 40 plus. Hubby doesn't tend to bother with age and as long as the person/people are lovely, genuine and fun its all good

It certainly does, I have no desire to touch anyone old enough to be my parent or my child. It's personal preference. I'm not into men older than me, they do nothing for me. Just ask some men may prefer redheads or some may like a slim lady. Move on past when you're looking at profiles until you find one that's looking for you. If a profile didn't have 'guidelines' with a person's preferences how would anyone know if they matched what the person is looking for and they would be bombarded with messages. Mine has guidelines, yet I still get the 'but I don't look/act my age' gang. Does it work? nope x

I think an age filter can save a lot of toing and froing.

'I'd like to meet you.'

'Many thanks, but you are outside of my age range.'

'I'm a young 60.'

'I'm sure you are, but I'm more interested in chaps my age, thanks all the same.'

'I work out. Look at my pictures,'

'You look good for your age, but I am really looking for someone younger, thanks, though.'

'In the dark, would you know?'

'It's not about in the dark, it's the whole package. Best of luck with finding someone.'

'You're a guy aren't you? Or a time waster?'

etc, etc,

I think I should get one on my profile, actually.

but if you have an age preference of your own in your profile, if you want people to respect yours, then surely shouldn't you respect theirs....

some people dont fancy playing with people old enough to be mum and dad...

just as some people don't fancy playing with people young enough to be son and daughter....

it is what it is.....

people for some reason always find a way to complain about the things that exclude them...... is this any different?

me, if i see someone who say no one under 39.... i move on to the next one...

if I see someone who says no black guys... I move on

if I see someone who says no large guys... guess what.... next one!

surely it would be easier to concentrate on those who may be interested, than those who have made it plain they dont.....
