More confused as to why it's there in one pic and not in the other.....is it a magic disappearing scar?

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

The scar would make no difference to us, I (Mrs) have quite a few too & if someone doesn't like it then they can look elsewhere as these sars are what made me the person I am today.

If you/I didn't have the scars we probably wouldn't be here today.

I have never had anyone mention them whilst on a swing meet.

"More confused as to why it's there in one pic and not in the other.....is it a magic disappearing scar?"

No I only got it a short while ago the other pic is from just before the crash where I got the scar.

I had one guy on a meet who said he was fine with it, but then on the meet cause it's kinda rasied an night than he thought he said could I keep my shirt on as it weired him out. Politely made excuses an left.

The nhs have offered special make up so that it would look skin toned for the few years till it actually does that naturally, dunno if I can be arsed doing that, so just wondered what people thought.

It will always be raised out though

I personally wouldn't bother with the make up as it makes the scars look worse.

I have grown up with mine & had some comments but it just goes over my head now lol

Dated a guy with a scar down his stomach from a bike accident, he was in a comer for 2 months but was baffled by me stroking it, as I said to him, it told a story and amazed me that he survived x

Any disfigurements I think it's best to show openly as you have to avoid the "omg" what is that on the night.

It certainly wouldn't bother me.

It's in your pics so people should be aware before meeting you. I'd also mention it in one of your early messages just to be sure.

I have a far more dramatic scar which has a much bigger effect on my appearance and apart from a couple of people who politely said no thanks I haven't had any problems. I know people will say it's different for women but if they were just saying it was ok to get a shag then they wouldn't be able to behave as they do when we get naked - I'd see their true opinion in their eyes.

Move on from the numpty and as long as your meets know about it early enough to let you know if they have any problems with it I wouldn't let it worry you.

Good luck.

I thought the same!

Have you tried bio oil? Rub it in for 15 minutes twice a day for 3 months. Rub hard as you have to break down the scar tissue.

It will bother you more than other people. xx

Does bother me how you have the "3" missing from your username, though!

Haha, I never liked the 3, didn't roll off the tongue right, I am tempted to change the username to something a little easier for people to read/remember though.

I don't think bio oil will work besides maybe help with the colour cause it's gone into keloid scaring

You can get plasters to reduce keloid scars. I believe it takes a long time to get results but that they do work.

You can buy them from boots and amazon but I think in some cases they can also be prescribed.

I have a keloid scar on my neck and I was recommended bio oil to use on it. As by massaging it daily, it breaks down the scar. If that doesn't work you can try steroid injections but I have been told they can be very painful.

If people have any issues with a scar then its their problem there are plenty of people who know that life isnt perfect and they are signs of a fighter and a survivor.

Thats terrible, how rude! No it doesnt bother me at all, we all have our lumps, bumps and scars they are what make us

I had surgery last year and it left a keloid, if you are concerned you could try using Dermatix. Dermatix comes in a silicone gel and a plaster that form a seal and flatten/reduce the scars. Mine has actually flattened and shrunk to half its size. But if they dont bother you then i wouldnt bother . Mrs x

Take no notice of the scars there you.. You can't change it i also suffered scars after an accident then operation... I have a lived in body, the scars will settle to become flat and lose the redness over about 2 years they then become more silvery and blend into your body colour better, Seriously if someone don't like it, there loss we all have war scars lol ! "I wouldn't have a problem with your scar at all, it's part of who you are and you have no reason to cover it up...because I'm a nosey bint I'd ask what happened though

Old lady not paying attention side swiped me on my motorbike.

*******************

I am really glad you didnt say that to my post. It is extremely patronising..even more so to a girl of 34. !!

Would have been a bit annoyed. As this lady just said she would ask what happened if she met you.. Not that she had not read the thread... and saw what had happened.

Sorry how is saying what happened patronising?

If not actually said the specifics of what had happened before that post beyond it was an elderly.driver who knocked me off.

"

Absolutely no offence taken

Scars are probably more of an issue for a woman if she has any.

As for scars on a guy though, that's just added character!

"Can't see why your asking really. It's the mental scars some have that'd concern me not the physical ones.

I agree. I had a man break down minutes after meeting him. He cried for ages and told me about his terrible childhood

I've had that too but the tears were mine! He looked like Daniel Craig, sounded like Joe Pasquale and spent the time talking about his overbearing adoptive mother!

We were by the Thames, I almost jumped in to escape him!

sorry for laughing but the Pasquale voice is just too funny. The Thames is cleaner now you might not catch anything too nasty if you did jump in. What did you do instead? I ended seeing my man for about a year after and became very fond of him. We never really got the sex off the ground but he was the first man to shackle me to a.bed "

After twenty minutes of his high pitched whine and the potted history of his mother's indifference, interspersed with her calling to say he'd not got her newspaper/lunch before setting off to London to meet some floozey...I'd have not cared if the Thames was teaming with piranhas as I was losing the will to live and his voice was really grating on my last nerve.

I downed the rioja in unlady like haste and told him to go home to his mum!

Scars don't bother me...and I'll often ask about them and share war wound stories (although mine are never as interesting!). It's just a tiny part of the person, but the pic you have to show it is a good idea as those who would be put off can clearly see it so no reason for it to ever really become an issue

"More confused as to why it's there in one pic and not in the other.....is it a magic disappearing scar?

No I only got it a short while ago the other pic is from just before the crash where I got the scar.

I had one guy on a meet who said he was fine with it, but then on the meet cause it's kinda rasied an night than he thought he said could I keep my shirt on as it weired him out. Politely made excuses an left.

The nhs have offered special make up so that it would look skin toned for the few years till it actually does that naturally, dunno if I can be arsed doing that, so just wondered what people thought.

It will always be raised out though"

No it'll slowly calm down over time so it won't be so noticeable. Use plenty of bio oil or coco butter on it daily that will help. Don't worry scars look hot on a guy! Makes them look like they've seen some action!

I adore scars! Shows a persons lived and has the proof be it from crashes, old war wounds, health problems or babies! Met several people with scars in various places and all prewarned me about them as they had the same problem about people being weirded out. Take pride in your scar and ignore people that put you down.

It wouldnt put me off anyone.

I have scars on my face and i cover them to make them less visible.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Scars usually tell a story. I've got 2 on my forehead. One from a car accident and the other from an over-zealous, newly qualified GP.

It's a distinguishing feature and in a sexual context it's another feature to play with (if that didn't freak the owner out).

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I've a long scar from my navel down to just above my groin after having tumours removed. It's faded quite a bit but it's still obviously a scar. Never had a single person ever comment on it.

So, I should imagine your scar probably bothers fewer people than you imagine.

I have two massive scars, one old one on my right leg and another recent one on my torso. If I met anyone that were freaked out by them, I would do just as you did; leave. I can understand if they were open wounds but they're not, they are part of us.

I'm very, very glad you have come out of that accident as well as you have.

"I'd end up stroking it

Dated a guy with a scar down his stomach from a bike accident, he was in a comer for 2 months but was baffled by me stroking it, as I said to him, it told a story and amazed me that he survived x"

I would be exactly the same,, im a very touchy feely person and love to run my fingers over their body I would end up stroking it too and probably chatting about what happened but it wouldnt bother me or weird me out xx

Like they said, don't worry about it. My goddaughter was badly scarred down her neck and chest when she was a toddler. Thanks to great Hospital and parent care they have never caused her problems, she is now 27 and unless you knew her. you would hardly notice them. I wouldn't cover it with makeup just keep it and the skin well moisturised. She had special cream for hers.

love it, hate it, don't mind/care?"

Hon. It's your battle wound. It's part of your story Be proud of it. If I met you I certainly wouldnt be focusing on that

I have scars too. But mine arent as obvious as yours. The metal plates in my leg makes people squirm though. Rather than be upset I think it's hilarious xx

If it bothers you, the plasters / tape you can get do work. You will notice some difference after a few weeks.

I used them for a bit but just got fed up and had a tattoo to go with it instead
